The question I would like to ask those that are saying that he turned around his life since his daughters birth, did his life need turning around?

That's a really good question. He made some mistakes. He was immature leaving the Rookie Symposium early, firing his agent and wanting to renegotiate his contract weeks after signing it, and being pulled over for a DUI. The other incident we know about is the ATV one. Some people don't have a huge problem with what he did there. It's easy as a suburban white kid to say he should have called the cops. But, I'd guess some areas of this country don't grow up with much trust for the cops. He tried to handled that situation on his own and it resulted in him being shot at. Did it work out for him? Not really. But, that one incident doesn't mean his life needed to be turned around. Plus, along with his daughter, that was the other event to made him take notice of the crowd around him. One of the few interviews I saw with him, he commented on how being shot at changed his mindset.Overall, there's currently no evidence that he was in an ***OFFICIAL*** gang or anything. But, he did appear to grow up with a tough crowd. He tried to shed those ties after entering the NFL, at the age of 21. I heard when he arrived in Washington, he brought two friends with him: one to take care of his household stuff and one to take care of other personal stuff. They used him. He dumped them.Did he need to turn his life around? He needed to change some things, for sure. And, he did, or at least began to. But, I don't think he needed to a complete 180. I don't think his life was in such a mess that he was headed in the completely wrong direction. But, obviously, there's much we don't know, both good and bad. As Gregg Williams said yesterday regarding all the character questions about Taylor: "You tell me the bad things you did when you were 16 and I go tell the world."

Is there any evidence that he "turned around his life" or is this just reaction to the testimonials that are being given by his teammates and coaches AFTER he passed away?

There were some vague comments about him maturing before he died. But, I don't see the point in throwing out all the testimonials after he died. I don't think they are all making it up. EVERY interview after he died mentioned that he was changing and maturing. They ALL said it. You aren't just hearing it from one or two guys.Gregg Williams spoke yesterday. He told stories about how his two sons were really close to Taylor. One of his sons wears 21 for his HS team. Taylor was like a big brother to them. I seriously doubt Williams would approve of such a relationship if he didn't think Taylor was headed in the right direction or if he thought Taylor was a "thug."
