Redskins WR's (1 Viewer)

You forgot one very important person.... Cooley 6'3, 265 lbs
Yeah don't forget this is Al Saunders offense we're talking about. Kennison, Parker, and Hall were all small too, and Gonzalez was obviously a featured receiver.

Gibbs believes the current illegal contact rules favor smaller, quicker receivers. I'm inclined to agree with him.

I am surprised by Randle El signing with the Skins. I thought he would have wanted to be in a spot where he was competing for the #1 or at least the clear #2.

Why? He was more successful in 2004 as a slot receiver than he was in 2005 as a starter, and he doesn't get banged up nearly as much. He is probably making the same amount as Brandon Lloyd.

Can't argue with S Smith and S Moss going 1-2 in receiving yards last year. Plus, sub-six footers like Galloway, Glenn, Chambers, Mason and Branch also cracked the Top-25.

What week this year will Randle El throw a TD pass to Lloyd?
Yeah there is going to be a ton of flexibility in that offense and that's exactly what they needed. This team isn't built like others and I like this signing because they have to play a scheme that keeps the opponent off balance. Say what you want about height, weight, national origin but this makes a very predictable unit into a team that will be difficult to predict.

I know that Moss exploded with the Redskins so it can happen, but I just can't see coughing up those kinds of contracts for 2 guys that have never caught over 50 balls in a season and have a season high of 733 yards receiving between them.

I'm most interested to see who's going to be tossing the ball to these guys this season. I've not read anything about Campbell advancements, and I can't believe that Brunnell is going to be "da man" again! MB had a career year last year... just wondering what the plan is at QB.

How do these 3 WR's stack up against the ole hogs of Sanders, Monk and the other guy?
The hogs were the offensive linemen. The smurfs were the WRs.Strictly speaking, the smurfs were Charlie Brown and Alvin Garrett, rather than Sanders, Monk and Clark.

Thank you for making my point for me... 23 TDs last season - more than any other - and this while playing in Gibbs' ball-control offense.

Having 1500 less total yards is offset by 1 TD?

Sorry but size doesn't mean ####.

Steve Smith 5' 9" - 185lbs

103 rec 1563 yards 15.2 ave 12 TDs

Enough Said
By this logic, the NFL should draft every WR from Mississippi Valley State.Jerry Rice played there.

Enough Said.

When will you learn that size doesn't matter?

I am surprised by Randle El signing with the Skins. I thought he would have wanted to be in a spot where he was competing for the #1 or at least the clear #2.
I thought he'd want to play for a Super Bowl contender. :P

Makes me wonder how many targets Chris Cooley will see this year.
I think the overall offensive numbers will rise but the individual numbers of Cooley and Santana will drop. I expect more of a focus on running the ball and spreading it around through the air.

I expect Portis to have a rousing year, with more room to run than last year since WR's besides Moss will be open more often.

Height is not the issue... skill sets in the right system is the issue.

I just don't know if the talent warrants the contract, at the WR position.
