Reggie Bush Ad (1 Viewer)

Saw this ad online but couldn't verify it was in the paper. Anyone know which paper for sure? Anyone see it themselves?

I don't know how much this cost but it's worth about a zillion times that.

Why don't more athletes do things like this? Whatever it cost ($50,000???) will be made back in spades.

Of course the cynic in me says that Reggie used the money his parents saved in rent last year to pay for the ad.

This guy could know something

Here is the ad.

Again, like after the Brees ad, I love the positive attitude surrounding this team right now and the connection with the community. I'm sure there is a case to be made that not all of the motivations are pure and marketing figures into both expressions, but I don't think that in anyway negates how much of a good thing this is and how much we need players and leaders like we have now.

Something special is happening here now, I've been a fan of this team for a great many years but for possibly the first time I am feeling proud of this team for the way it is handling itself off the field and genuinely feel an investment in the community comming from the players. I still don't trust Ben$on, but I'm loving this team.

A sign that the Bush camp is aggressively turning around the negative buzz surrounding him before the draft. I was really wondering about the advice he was getting before the draft, but this makes me feel a lot better about it.

Bush and Brees have been a much needed morale boost for a depressed city. For the first time in 8 months the conversations aren't dominated by Katrina and it's aftermath.

Question? Could it be the Saints organization that have taken these ads out? They look awfully similar.

I would imagine they had something to do with it. Perhaps it was even their initial idea.Doesn't change how classy it seems to me.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. And calculated or not, motivations aside and regardless of potential financial impact, I'm sure the people of NO really appreciate it.

I think it's a great idea and thoughtful gesture for a city that needs something to look forward to. But, and I only say this because it just seems a bit strange, but doesn't Bush think a little highly of himself stating the he " is looking forward to having an amazing career". I realize he probably didn't write this, but it's written like he did. Looks like he's believeing his own hype.

Well, he's being optimistic. What's he gonna say 'I look forward to being at least average. I hope....'?

:P

It's confidence -- any NFL player worth a pick (much less a #2 overall) should have that.

You get me wrong. It's not that he shouldn't have "confidence" and yes, he should go in and expect to help the team. But to say "I am going to have an AMAZING career" is putting himself not only above NFL players as a whole, but putting himself with the elite. Huh, Mr. Bush - the guys in the NFL are not only bigger and stronger, but much much faster as well. You might want to play a down first and then decide if you are "Amazing"

Your name and member number say it all...

"The welcome and support that I have recieved from the organization, the City of New Orleans, and the entire community has been amazing. I am both exited and ready to do whatever I can to help this team and community move forward. There is resilient, hopeful, and winning attitude :X in New Orleans and with the Saints, that is contagious. :yucky:

I am looking forward to an amazing career in New Orleans."

Definitely a good PR on Bush side, making sure he's not confused with the other guy who let them down on Katrina. However, since when did NO became a winning organization? Did I miss some pre-seaosn games last year? And also what will "the community" think when Bush asks the Saints to "show him the money"....

LOL. What does "when" you registered on this particular forum have to do what you have to say. That's stupid. But I guess you live for your number so good for you. I was just making a point and if you read my post it just points to the fact - wasn't making a "huge" deal about it. But go ahead an live in your rose-colored world and call out anyone who hasn't been here longer than 3 months.

Before you go careleesly heaping praise - wasn't he also the one that decided not to visit NO pre draft? Implying that he wouldn't want to be there?

I guess he better not hold-out now....

(It is a nice gesture, though, and I praise the effort to put a good foot forward -- both Bush and the organization.)

Marketing ploy. They ask Bush if he'll do it and of course he will; heck - where'd they get the picture from - at the airport? They snap a picture, puts some words on it and you guys really think he's a great guy. Let New Orleans offer a little less than what he and his agent think he deserves and he'll be saying "Screw you - pay me!" It won't be about the city or the fans then. All this PR stuff is for is to help the fans "move on". If having two new FA's come in and plaster a poster of them saying how wonderful it is to be in New Orleans brain washes guys on this board, then it'll certainly hypnotise the masses in NO.

Oh, and Miami was Bree's "first" choice.

I like both players and I think NO will be a much better team with them, but let's not forget - it's a business first and foremost. Just because they got "paid" doesn't mean they're happy to be there.

what will "the community" think when Bush asks the Saints to "show him the money"....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
That's my first thought too .... this whole community/team guy image could go up in a cloud of smoke if he pull's a Benson on the Saints ... I really hope that's not the case but till he's signed NO has nothing but the #2 drafted collage player at the top of their "to do" list

It is a nice gesture.

I am sure the 70K people there just trying to live a life, get it back in order and just hoping things get better really gave two ****s about it.

Henderson Commentary: N.O. gets some of its mojo back with big weekend

Full article

Like many of you I'm sure, I continue to be amazed at what life is like in our post-Katrina world. Every day offers an unexpected insight into ourselves, our souls, and those of our fellow citizens.

I can't think of anything that could have advanced our journey on the pot-hole pocked "road to recovery" from a psychological standpoint more than the confluence of events of this weekend past.

I ran into people last night who had just left Jazz Fest with smiles on their faces, goose bumps on their arms, and tears in their eyes from the many emotions the experience had conjured up.

But what they and everyone else wanted to talk about was the Saints' serendipitous selection of Reggie Bush on Saturday.

The phones in the Saints ticket office erupted at 11:15 am and haven't stopped since. But truth be known, the Saints were already on their way to breaking the franchise record for season tickets sold of 54,000 set back in 2003 before the selection of the running back who could be the most exciting player in franchise history...

Some of you guys are just unreal !!!! Did Mario do such a thing, Young etc ???

Good for the folks in NO to have their top two additions in a long time immediately say thank you and acknowledge the fans support. As well show their committment to the Saints and the city of NO.

This off season appears to be a turning point for this organization . It does not put them anywhere near elite status but it is a great start.

For people to jump on Bush, Brees, the Saints organization and the city of NO for this is ludicrous.
