Reggie Bush update (1 Viewer)

The Saints shouldn't need Bush to beat the Panthers. I think the smart move is to rest him this week and use the bye to get him ready for Week 11 and the stretch run. He could be getting a lot of touches the rest of the season if Thomas can't return.

I always chuckle just a bit when folks suggest that a victory is secure without even using all their players, especially since New Orleans has been so dominant all year and is trailing two teams in their division. Road games in the NFL are a breeze.

The Saints barely beat the Panthers in the Dome. The Panthers are the Saints Kryptonite so if Bush is able to play, he will play.

I agree and I know the Panthers play the Saints tough but I still believe New Orleans can win this game without Bush. I'm thinking big picture here so I think the prudent move would be to sit him again and use the bye to get him as close to 100% starting in Week 11. If Thomas can't return, Bush could become the primary RB for the Saints the rest of the season. They need him healthy.

True, but the NFC is wide open and when people think about the top 2 teams, the Saints do come up in the conversation. While I agree with you that resting Bush is important, at some point he has to get in there unless they want to take the long road back to the SB.

Has Payton given any indication about whether Bush will be returning punts this week? If he is I would think that would be a good indication that Bush is in good shape physically with the leg and will be heavily involved in the game plan. I would love to play a healthy Bush this week, but am concerned he may be used more as a decoy his 1st week back. What are your thoughts?

I suspect he will not be used in that capacity in this game because the risk /reward involved is just not there. The Saints should handle the Seahawks without needing Bush's game changing ability in the return game. I would look for Lance Moore to continue in returns this week. Even so here is the info:(KFFL) New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said there is a good possibility that RB Reggie Bush (fibula) will return punts in Week 11, reports Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

FFToday) The New Orleans Saints feel good about chances of running back Reggie Bush returning for this week's game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to league source. The team expects Bush to get through practice the next two days and if he does he will play for the first time since breaking his right fibula during a Week 2 victory at San Francisco. Fellow running back Pierre Thomas, however, is not improving as rapidly and could be out a few more weeks.
