No Clark, No Marv, Horrible Weather, Doubled all night and he still gets it done...
In fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. He's made zero plays with any sort of coverage on him. Kudos to him for finding seams, but he has yet to make any play that's contested. No Clark, No Marv, Horrible Weather, Doubled all night and he still gets it done...
There has always been this concern that Wayne wouldn't be able to get it done by himself... those little whispers are being silenced tonight.Doctor Detroit said:Great thread. The guy was a #1 WR in leagues long ago. Obviously your TV was broken. Glad it's fixed now.![]()
Is your argument that he isn't very good because no defenders are able to stay close enough to him to contest the passes? In fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. that's the first analogy i thought of tooIn fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. He's made zero plays with any sort of coverage on him. So he's too good that he breaks off his defender by running great routes that he then doesn't have make insane catches?? That's asinine. Kinda like saying a lawyer isn't a great lawyer because he doesn't show off in court since he always wins his cases due to outstanding summery judgments motions.
yeah... hes only 10 recs for 140 with time still remainingIn fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. He's made zero plays with any sort of coverage on him. in my defense, i'm reading a summary judgment motion as i watch the game... what's your excuse?that's the first analogy i thought of tooIn fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. I guess someone doesn't like uWhy were my posts erased? Wayne was 6th in PPR leagues coming into tonight's game. Why anyone is surprised he is good is beyond me. He's a top five fantasy WR with or without Harrison, Clark, or whomever. Thanks.

i feel like i've seen wayne make many great catches that were closely defended. last night and a few weeks ago, wasn't he the one that made that ridiculous catch in triple coverage on about the 4 yard line (i know that's incredibly vague. i can't remember the exact situation, but the catch was great).i did notice last night that he appeared to be blanketed on all the deep routes. judging from last night, without marvin or dallas, wayne may not get very many deep balls. the chargers were all over his deep routes and wayne isn't quite randy moss.wayne is a great WR. he's not a physical freak with blazing speed, but he's a smart WR with good hands, on the same page with peyton, that'll get his somehow. In fantasy terms, yes.In NFL terms, no. told ya guys there were Wayne haters...He gave up on one of the Cromartie INTs Plaxico style. At the very least he deserves some criticism for that. He was also targeted 19 times. As impressive as his final numbers may have been, they could've/should've been much better.I don't think he's a bad WR by any stretch of the imagination, but despite his stats, last night was not a "great" game for Wayne.
I can remember 5-6 of those targets that were WAY overthrown on deep routes. It's not like Wayne was dropping accurate throws. He's a great WR. And that was a bad play on the interception and he deserves criticism for that. He's also much better (as any WR would be) with Marvin Harrison on the other side.JHe gave up on one of the Cromartie INTs Plaxico style. At the very least he deserves some criticism for that. I agree, and my apologies to everyone for making it sound like I don't think Wayne is a great WR (I quickly posted my above comments as I was trying to head to a meeting). But last night was not a good example of what makes Wayne "the Real Deal", IMO. Part of it was Manning, part of it was the absence of Harrison, part of it was the weather, etc. But a good part of it was also Wayne himself.I'd be really interested to know when was the last time (or even, how many times) Manning targeted someone 19 times and how that player fared, as well as how the game turned out for Indy. He's a great WR. And that was a bad play on the interception and he deserves criticism for that. Yeah that was a terrible effort on Reggie's part... if not break up the play atleast tackle the defender. I'm sure he appoligied to Peyton afterwards and assured it wouldn't happen again. He's a great WR. And that was a bad play on the interception and he deserves criticism for that.
