Seems like you hit them right in the middle of their busiest time of the day. They opened at noon and their hours that day were 12-3 total. One shift for the day

This is Kansas City we are talking about. This is definitely doable, especially on a Sunday. Not sure how you thought you could sit down, have two beers, order food, eat food, go to the symphony, find a place to park, and get to your seats, all within 90 minutes.
The distance between the restaurant and symphony was 5 min. and parking is a snap. Not sure how you thought you could sit down, have two beers, order food, eat food, go to the symphony, find a place to park, and get to your seats, all within 90 minutes.
Agreed and it's lunch time. Lunch at a casual restaurant should be a hour tops and I think that's too long for a Sunday. This is Kansas City we are talking about. This is definitely doable, especially on a Sunday.
Not covering your tab is a dirtbag move in my opinion. I get your didn't get good service, but not covering the tab is lame.2 local ipas. They usually run 5.50 a pint. I didn't have 11 dollars just a ten and a twenty
Frankly, they're lucky I had any cash on me at all to pay... otherwise I was nearly out of time to swipe and wait for a bill anyway. Not covering your tab is a dirtbag move in my opinion. I get your didn't get good service, but not covering the tab is lame.
This isn't meant as a personal attack as you're good people. But, asking for my opinion I say you were in the wrong on this part of it.
Is he not covering it though if he didn’t receive his food? Dentist is fine here imo.Not covering your tab is a dirtbag move in my opinion. I get your didn't get good service, but not covering the tab is lame.

I was pointing to the fact that his beer was $11 and he only left $10. Yes, its only a dollar short but I don't know if that comes out of the waiters pocket or a write off. Throw in the food and while it wasn't delivered, the manager may be looking to the server to make that up. I'm not really concerned about that part since it was never delivered. Is he not covering it though if he didn’t receive his food? Dentist is fine here imo.
chode movethey shouldn't have to. but if i'm there, already ordered, and have waited an inordinate amount of time, i am going to find out wtf is going on. not sit there like a chode for 55 minutes hoping something was going to happen. the restaurant is 100% in the wrong, but damned if i'm going to just there. f that noise. "mild attempts at calling him over" wut?
SavageAh, I didn't realize that the Kansas City symphony was in such close proximity to a casual restaurant, with ample parking available for all. Carry on.
They had a 2-for-1 coupon for "The Music Of The Wizard Of Oz" tribute night.E-Z Glider said:

Sounds like it.Frankly, they're lucky I had any cash on me at all to pay...

Weak. While I may have shorted them a dollar or two on the tab at most, their costs were most certainly covered on the the beer.
He probably won free tickets by putting his business card into a fishbowl. Taking his wife to this keeps him from having to redbox the next Ryan Gosling movie to keep her happy. So far he's saved $2 on a redbox movie and $4 on the two beers. He's up $6 which is why he'll be sipping pina coladas on the beach while you're still slaving away in a cube like a sucker!People under 70 go to the symphony?
Applebee's. He had a gift certificateWhat was the name of the restaurant?
The highlight of that day was the dissing at the crummy restaurant. Symphony = nap time.LAM, I go to the symphony.
The waiter will just tell the manager it was a drink and run....or at least that's what a smart waiter would do.Bull Dozier said:I was pointing to the fact that his beer was $11 and he only left $10. i imagine drink and run is uncommon at sunday lunch from a white couple in their early 40sThe waiter will just tell the manager it was a drink and run....or at least that's what a smart waiter would do.
Actually i did have a gift card for this restaurant for $50... so i wasn't going to pay for the meal.Applebee's. He had a gift certificate
So are we fishing now? How cute.i imagine drink and run is uncommon at sunday lunch from a white couple in their early 40s
It is illegal to make a server pay for a walkout...at least in CA.Bull Dozier said:I was pointing to the fact that his beer was $11 and he only left $10. A Cuban is either someone who was born in the country of Cuba OR a sandwich with roast pork, glazed ham, mustard, and pickles on Cuban bread.what is a cuban?
Or he bought one beer and had them put it in two cups and top off with water.I believe the Dentist went dutch: $10 from him, $10 from Mrs Dentist.
Seems right to me.
It's illegal everywhere. Staff could be disciplined for cash mishandling in this situation and of course poor guest service. It is illegal to make a server pay for a walkout...at least in CA.
Just make sure none of them are actually a Dominican in a Cuban wrapper.A Cuban is either someone who was born in the country of Cuba OR a sandwich with roast pork, glazed ham, mustard, and pickles on Cuban bread.
Yep.It's illegal everywhere. Staff could be disciplined for cash mishandling in this situation and of course poor guest service.
This. Also, if they just forgot about you i probably would have not even left the 10. I would consider the beers as payment for wasting my time. Why didn't you just get up and inquire as to what was going on? Say, 20 minutes into waiting? Nothing wrong with leaving, but sitting there without taking any action is confusing to me.
