italy threadI’m going to Rome with my family this summer; never been and very excited. I would like to make reservations in advance for a “classic” but expensive fine dining experience. Anyone know anything about this?

Not from cincy but we have eaten at several Jeff Ruby’s steakhouses. I think he has a couple of places in cincy but I have only been to The Precinct. Very very good! Cool vibe too!I am likely going to be in Cinci over the summer for a weekend. Anyone have any restaurant recommendations there? I am open to any range from local dive with flavor to upscale.
That place is terrible. My suggestion is to not go there and create longer lines for the fools that eat there.I may be a little biased, but this place is in my backyard

Not sure where you'll be staying so here goes from a west sider now living on the east side:I am likely going to be in Cinci over the summer for a weekend. Anyone have any restaurant recommendations there? I am open to any range from local dive with flavor to upscale.
Is that tartar sauce on a burger I see?my favorite burger - Swenson's of Akron Ohio (they have been expanding in the last couple of years)
They put a little brown sugar in the meat (we all think ...), fresh buttered, grilled buns, gooey cheese. Great shakes/various fountain sodas.
Awesome. Hope you have a great time.August. 5 nights in Rome, then a 9 day cruise of the western Mediterranean. Can’t wait.

Man, I am now CRAVING a Reuben something fierce. But I don't want to cave and just get an ordinary one. I want a good Reuben.shuke said:
I got a great steak passing through Toledo once. Old school restaurant , looks like it’s been there for years. Any idea?If you're ever in Toledo you have to check out Tony Packos. The original location is best
Has to be Mancy's. Former mob hangout too.I got a great steak passing through Toledo once. Old school restaurant , looks like it’s been there for years. Any idea?
That was it! We were passing through and thought about Packos but we decided we wanted a steak. Wife googled Toledo and steak and that’s where we ended up. Mob back in the Capone days or 70’s/80’s?Has to be Macy's. Former mob hangout too.
During the Drew Peterson Trial: This guy shows up at the Will County Courthouse, which is 300+ miles away from Cincinnati, and sits in the front row of the public seating of the court room. Ends up getting thrown out of the court room because he was mouthing expletives to Peterson like some wannabe tough guy.Enlighten me. We have enjoyed our times at his restaurants (Cincy, Louisville and Columbus).
In between, but more the latter than the former. Popular place for Cleveland Mafia to rendezvous with the Chicago Outfit. That was it!
