RIP Glen Campbell (1 Viewer)

Huge talent who could sing like an angel and play guitar to beat the devil.  He could also act a little and tell corny jokes.

I'm glad I was able to see him perform during his farewell tour.  It was one of the more emotional shows I've seen.

Look for "I'll Be Me", his daughter's documentary of his last tour - a lovely, heart-rending couple of hrs.

Among other things, Glen Campbell made my favorite couplet ever, "I need you more than want you/And I want you for all time" my favorite couplet ever. RIP -

Always fascinated by the fact he was part of the Wrecking Crew...big fan of Southern Nights...just a real pleasant song...

"Rhinestone Cowboy" was like nothing i had ever heard before ... which is so peculiar, seeing as how i was such a huge Beatles fan, and was a voracious listener of WNEW-FM.  lotta groundbreaking stuff churned out over those airwaves.

but ... "RC" literally blared out the speakers ... it has such a bouncy grandiosity. it was stirring  - just a wonderfully crafted tune.  man, i would crank that toot sweet the second i heard the opening.  a fantastic slice of Mid-70s pop genius.

R.I.P. to a legit legend ✌

Oh man, so sad. If you haven't seen his documentary from 2014 about dealing with Altzheimer's, I'd recommend checking it out. It's called "I'll Be Me." RIP. You are out of hell and hopefully singing away up in heaven.

There's been a load of compromisin' on the road to my horizon, but I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me

:(

Agreed. My grandmother had it. She knew she wasnt the same as she used to be and it was so frustrating for her.
Same with mine. I didn't see it first hand as she was in Iran, but man I heard the stories. The scariest one for her and my cousin was when she took my cousin's baby out in his stroller for a walk around the block. 1/2 hour later she shows up without the stroller. Everyone frantically went to find it and found the stroller left on the sidewalk a block over. Thankfully no one kidnapped the baby. She just could not remember. So heartbreaking for everyone involved. :(

Alzheimers is so scary to me. I hate he had to deal with that. :(
