RIP Ultimate Warrior (1 Viewer)

BustedKnuckles, somehow your tenacious arguing of your point is actually hurting your argument. Weird.
oh i see...so by this logic anyone who debates is on steroids

Im just trying to ''enlighten '' certain people who have been lead to believe false truths. Seeing i havent taken any juice for over 6 months i hardly think my phantom roid rage is kicking in hahaha

One of my faves as a kid....how does the WWF not get investigated? Such a high rate of dying young - wonder if his heart just gave out after years of steroid abuse....that seems to be the fate for quite a few wrestlers...sad
Aaaannnnd here we go.....i was wondering how long before people started this line of crap
You think it's a stretch that Warrior was abusing roids?
first of all who said he was abusing or even using steroids ....lets start with that ...seems anyone who works out and dies its automatic that steroids killed them...its just so stupid ....give me a list of athletes PROVEN WITHOUT A DOUBT(medically) that steroids were directly responsible for there deaths...not media sensationalism ...proof
Where's all this rage coming from?
Yes, anabolic androgenic steroids can increase ones aggression, however, aggression is not rage; aggression is not uncontrollable behavior. No, anabolic steroids do not chemically alter the brain, they do not alter ones personality, it simply does not work that way and it has been proven time and time again. Although its been proven because it is so damaging to the anti-steroid camp it is normally ignored but the New England Journal of Medicine has again and again proven that roid rage is nothing more than a myth.
Where and what regulates agressission then if there are no effects of steroids on the brain or personality.
Increased testosterone = increased aggression
Equals a personality change
well whats the old adage? If you`re an ####### already and you take something that alters you(booze /drugs)than you become a bigger #######. Same would hold true with aggression. My personal experience is i just feel better all the time...no anger at all...more euphoric if anything...i feel great about myself ...no rage just happy ...sorry to burst your bubble lol
Yeah. That's a personality change.

im still waiting for this magical list of deaths caused directly by anabolic steroids. I can give you a list of the number of people who died directly from the use of anti-depressants ...pain killers...recreational drugs and alcohol...its pretty long

Serious question, what DO you think kills these wrestlers and many football players today?

It's hard to delineate causation with a myriad of factors, including recreational chemicals as well as the prescribed painkillers and the like.

Sorry to see him go, but the Warrior was pretty much a jerk.

He wasn't much of a wrestler and his mic work, while entertaining for its rambling incoherence, was not well-crafted parody or satire. It was simply all his feeble brain could spit out.

As a New Orleanian, I cannot forgive comments like this:

"If we could be shown what general conditions they lived in before the hurricane, we would see that had little respect for what they did have. We would see just how unorganized, unclean and dysfunctionally they lived. They never gave a care for order, cleanliness or function before, but now that they can get someone's attention who will possibly take over the responsibility of their life for them, they go on these tirades about how their life has been ruined. Their lives were already in ruin — self ruin. Ruined by the bad choices they made over and over.
[...]
And they are fat. Have you ever seen so many fat people? Poverty? Poverty of what? Having enough to buy so much food to eat that you become obese — this is poverty? Only one TV? This is poverty? A house with a roof over your head? This is Poverty? Indoor plumbing? Electric appliances? Refrigeration? Phones? Cell phones? Computers? Designer clothes made by rap stars? $200 Nikes? Free medicine and medical care if you really need it? Is having all this poverty? What the hell, then, do we call the scenes they shoot out of Africa that they use to lay guilt trips down on all of us?

They claim New Orleans was (is) a great city. Maybe once it was, I don't know. Too, maybe it's just always been corrupt as it has been for years and years. Truth is, today, it was nothing more than a pornographic cesspool of decadence and depravity. You know, an East Coast version of that Las Vegas take on vacation time — "what you do there stays there." You go there, drink and drink and drink and behave like a pervert, reprobate and degenerate, take a huge dose of antibiotics and a nice extra long shower before you hop on the plane back home, and, "Hey, who knows any better?" You go back to the church, PTA, and local council and "squarely" fit right back in. One thing is for sure, IF New Orleans ever was a great city, it certainly was not because it had leaders and citizenry like the leaders and citizenry it has today."
It seems appropriate that he spent the last night of his life in NOLA.

Well most football players its being overweight . Id say with the wrestlers its the totality of the way they live. Many athletes use all kinds of drugs (cocaine-painkillers-booze ect;) Look at pro bodybuilders for the proof. Many of the guys that died were all using the same drugs as i just mentioned...and add diuretics to the mix and extreme dieting schedules and you have a recipe for disaster . If steroids were killing people like the media wants us to believe there wouldnt be any bodybuilders alive. Arnold ...Lou Ferrigno ...most the old time guys from the movie pumping iron are still alive and healthy. The amount of steroids the modern day bodybuilder uses in one year would stagger the mind...yet year after year they just keep going and going. I know former Mr Olympia Jay Cutler...he grew up a few towns away from me ...the guy is a HOUSE and eats 2 dozen eggs and 2 steaks in one sitting ....add in all the steroids and other stuff they take and he should be dead and buried. He looks to be in great health all the time. The thing thats funny about steroids is ,on one hand they are used as medicine for aids patients and burn victims and people with various ailments and they work like magic....but as soon as they are used to build muscle they become deadly...it doesnt make sense because its non sensible. You can blame congress and Ben Johnson and the media for the reefer madness effect that is now connected to steroids ..Dont believe the hype.

Let me throw this out there...HGH is a whole different animal and has shown to cause a lot of health issues as far as enlarging internal organs..HgH is not a steroid. Im not saying that people who take steroids in massive amounts cant get sick from it....but again...abuse anything and you will pay a price...steroids used sensibly work and work well

A great entertainer but not a great wrestler. Loved Warrior from the time he was the Dingo Warrior and then up the ranks to WWF in the late 80s. When you look back you can see how his style or moves were quite simple but he knew how to get the crowd completely jacked before he ever hit the ring.

That's probably the worst kept secret in the history of wrestling. But, yes, he knew how to get over.

I actually kind of a agree with a lot of this.

This is a hijack, but some of what he says might be correct in terms of the politicians and such pre Katrina, but most of it is totally over the top. Like the only thing he's ever done in New Orleans or seen in New Orleans is people puking and showing boobies on Bourbon St. BTW, those are mostly tourists, not locals. Ask the police.

The stuff about people being fat?? Yeah, all over the United States poor people are fat. That's not unique to New Orleans. It's because they buy cheap food. It's a credit to our country that many of our poor are at least fed. In fact, most of what he said comes across as pretty racist IMO.

Warrior was a tool bag, God rest his soul...

That's probably the worst kept secret in the history of wrestling. But, yes, he knew how to get over.
I fail to see the difference. Since there's no actual competition occurring, it's all entertainment

So, would you say that Keith Richards is a great wrestler since he's a great performer?

Biz Markie is one of the best ever at the art of singing. Sure there are countless singers with better voices and more range, but since singing is about entertainment, there is no competition, and Biz Markie is more well known than the lesser known artists who are more skilled at singing, Biz Markie must be a better singer.

The results are predetermined, but there is some skill involved. Warrior had skill in getting over, but not so much with actual wrestling moves. That's OK since Hogan was the exact same way, but compare that to a guy like Flair who had some grappling skill and was super smooth in the ring.

Lack of wrestling skill is what took Hulk Hogan out of the AWA. Because he wasn't a technical wrestler, Vern Gagne refused to allow him to be the champion.

History has proven Gagne was moronic in his decision. Hogan left the AWA and was the WWF champion that same year. The rest is history. My point is, the Ultimate Warrior was one of the greats at entertaining, which is what the sport is about.

This and the Keith Richards analogy are apples to kiwis. We're talking about "Professional" wrestling.

The only thing I could see that makes one wrestler better than the other is if they smack and suplex and atomic drop their opponent without hurting them as much as they could... or they bounce off the ropes better or something *shrug*

Otherwise it's all about how exciting and how much they pump the crowd
