Well, I don't know if you refer to no info as "inside info." A guy on a local board that I frequent knows someone in the Chiefs office. He's proven himself reliable in the past.

He says:

"I can tell you the staff is worried, but we are also specuating Roaf is coming back."

So basically even the Chiefs don't know but they're leaning towards his return. What I'm wondering is if he's coming back why can't he just tell them? Is this a get-out-of-camp-free issue still? Maybe they won't give him permission to skip so this is his way of forcing it (they'll obviously let him back on the team anytime)?

Maybe because Herm, "Plays to win the game". Maybe since he's the new coach, he doesn't want to set a precedent of allowing him to take off training camp. It's not as bad if Roaf retires, then comes back right before the season. Herm doesn't look like he's taking it easy and Roaf doesn't look lazy.
