Broncos | Smith suffers concussion, day to day

Tue, 26 Sep 2006 14:07:44 -0700

Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos WR Rod Smith (concussion) suffered a concussion late in Week 3's game and is currently day-to-day.

I have not seen it anywhere else after looking. Local radio stations are going on and has not been brought up.

I just read an article about Rod SMith wearing a Don Beebe type helmet to avoid concussions.

then again, they always say that a player who gets on is much more likely to get another one..ever subsequent concussion makes the next one more likely

Troy Aikman as the example.... I'm kind of afraid for Trent Green when he comes back

I've looked everywhere I can think of, and I think the KFFL writer is dyslexia and mixed up the fact that his concussion occured in week 2 and this is concussion number 3 for him in the past year.

Plus Rod practiced today.

I saw the hit on Sunday. He definitely had a concussion, but it seemed like a mini one. He got popped right in the chin.

Kircus or Brandon Marshall ?
Thats what Im wondering. Anyone?
I think Denver sees Marshall as its long-term starting WR, and would ultimately like to get him game experience, but Marshall is well behind the learning curve because he missed a lot of the preseason with an injury, and he's a rookie to boot. Denver likes Kircus, Kircus has a better grasp of the offense, and I expect Kircus to have more short-term value if Rod Smith really is out for any significant time.Long term, though, you have to think that Brandon Marshall is going to start getting the Tony Scheffler treatment sooner or later as Denver tries to expedite his learning curve.

(KFFL) Correcting a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Rod Smith did not suffer a concussion late in the Week 3 game.

Ok he didn't have a concussion, but it sure looked like it when he got popped. But like I said it looked like a mini concussion, because he continued to play. :banned:
