Roddy White - Well, looks like he has screwed us all (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Roddy White (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Cardinals.
White rolled his ankle late in last week's loss to the Browns and missed practice all week. So he'll watch this one in street clothes, leaving Harry Douglas as the No. 2 and Devin Hester as the No. 3. Expect Julio Jones to be a target monster even though he'll be going toe-to-toe with Antonio Cromartie and Patrick Peterson. The rest of the Falcons inactives: QB Sean Renfree, CB Robert Alford, LB Tyler Starr, T Jonathan Scott, DT Paul Soliai and DL James Anderson.

Related: Harry Douglas, Julio Jones

Rotoworld:

Roddy White (ankle) said he expects to be "good to go down the stretch."

White missed practice all last week before sitting out against the Cardinals. His Week 14 status is up in the air, but his ankle sprain isn't as severe as the one that cost him three games in 2014. White should be considered questionable for Monday night against the Packers despite his optimism. We'll know more when the Falcons resume practice Thursday.

Rotoworld:

Roddy White (ankle) is practicing on Saturday.

White "ran extensively" on a side field on Friday, and was spotted wearing a helmet on his way to the practice field Saturday. White will likely be listed as a limited participant, but any practice puts him on track to play Monday night in Green Bay. He will be a high-risk WR3 against the Packers.

Damn, bad vibes Roddy...but I don't think I can quit you this week. I have a hard time thinking he won't active on Monday, but in my case, if he's a late scratch, I can at least slide Davante Adams into the lineup.

Dammit! I have options on Sunday, so I guess I'll go with one of those. I was hoping for a full participant, at least there would have been no doubt.....grrrr!

I just can't trust this guy. He has misled too many times. He may go off but I have too many other good options to trust him.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Lisa Salters reported Roddy White (questionable, ankle) will be active on Monday Night Football against the Packers.
This was expected after Roddy practiced on Saturday and essentially guaranteed he will play at Lambeau. Salters also reported Packers RCB Sam Shields (concussion) will play on Monday night. The Packers are whopping 13-point favorites facing the Falcons. White will be a candidate for double-digit targets, particularly if Green Bay jumps out to an early-game lead.

at the last minute just swapped in Davante Freakin' Adams for Roddy.

Figure the Packers could reach 50 points, and the Falcons might not break 20, even though they'll be getting "garbage time" stats starting in the 2nd quarter ;)

Roddy will certainly screw me again by having a career game of 200 yards and 3 TDs on my bench.

Roddy White - WR - Falcons

Roddy White caught three passes for 42 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons' Week 14 loss to the Packers.

Making his return from an ankle injury, White was targeted five times, while Julio Jones was just destroying the Packers' secondary for an 11-259-1 line on 17 targets. White didn't catch his touchdown until after Jones was forced from the game midway through the fourth quarter with a hip injury. White didn't appear 100 percent himself, but he should be fine for Week 15 against the Steelers. He projects to run most of his routes against LCB Ike Taylor, providing Taylor is healthy after hurting his knee Sunday. Taylor has been beaten like a drum the past two weeks.

Yeah way to go Roddy. Whole 42 yards and a td in a shootout. Retire you bum.
Been banged up and you're seriously whining about 10 points in a standard?

Maybe it's your schtick...

Rotoworld:

Roddy White conceded he's not 100 percent healthy.

White has been battling an ankle issue the past few weeks, but played 63-of-67 snaps Monday night against the Packers. He'll be in the lineup for Week 15 against the Steelers, and the Falcons may have to lean on him even more if Julio Jones (hip) is unable to play. White will run most of his routes at the left cornerback, which will either be Ike Taylor or Antwon Blake on Sunday. The matchup doesn't get much tastier. White will be on the WR2 radar at the Georgia Dome.

So with Julio looking like a decoy at best, is Roddy a top 10 WR this week? Been seeing tons of love for Douglas. Roddy will get Ike Taylor, which could actually be a positive.

...am I the only Roddy owner who is still alive in the playoffs?

got him going over Greg Jennings

Trying to decide if I will be using Roddy in a flex spot over McCoy in a PPR. If I knew he was 100% with Julio being out I'd certainly use him, but I worry.

Rotoworld:

Roddy White caught seven passes for 58 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons' Week 15 loss to the Steelers.

He was targeted 10 times, but still finished second on the team behind Harry Douglas (14) in the category with Julio Jones (hip) inactive. White worked mostly against CB Antwon Blake, who was filling in for Ike Taylor on Sunday. White's score came from four yards away in the fourth quarter. He'll be a WR2/3 next week against the Saints, whom he posted 6-72-1 against in the season opener.

Rotoworld:

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure says Roddy White "wasn't himself a year ago due to a variety of injuries and age catching up to him."

We'd agree. Fighting nagging knee and ankle injuries, White finished with a respectable 80-921-7 line but couldn't threaten defenses over the top and offered nothing after the catch. Now 33 years old, he's going to fall further down the cliff and also gets a downgrade in scheme. Kyle Shanahan offenses pepper the "X" receiver (Julio Jones) with monstrous volume and treat the No. 2 wideout as a complementary piece.

Rotoworld:

Roddy White said the Falcons aren't "going to be passing 35-40 times a game."

The Falcons averaged 39.5 pass attempts per game last year, third-most in the league. Unless third-round pick Tevin Coleman emerges, Atlanta's running game should be just as stagnant as it was in 2014. Though White might disagree, we expect Atlanta to rely heavily on the pass again this season. Perhaps White was hinting at his own reduced role in the offense. White mentioned previously he's "not worried" about how many targets he'll get.

Atlanta Falcons position preview: wide receivers

Excerpt:

Opposite Jones, the coaches really like newcomer Hankerson based on his strong offseason. Hankerson played in Shanahan's system while in Washington and appears to be healthy coming off a gruesome left knee injury in 2013. But Hankerson's emergence doesn't necessarily move White aside. It simply means the veteran White has to have a strong training camp and show the left knee injury that has plagued him won't be a lingering issue. White was given some time off during the offseason to rest. When Shanahan opts for three-receiver sets, the rookie Hardy could be the third receiver running out of the slot. Hardy already has drawn praise from quarterback Matt Ryan as a key figure to the offense's success this season.

Backup plan: It would be hard to imagine White accepting a reserve role after he established team records in both career receptions (765) and receiving yards (10,357) through 10 years with the franchise. Again, it will all depend on how White's body holds up throughout the season. He's been nagged by various ailments over the last two seasons, including hamstring and ankle problems to go with the knee. And White turns 34 in November.

As a Skins fan and watching Hankerson up close the last few seasons, no way he's pushing Roddy White.
No he won't but Justin Hardy will. I fully expect Hardy to be starting opposite Jones in 2016. Earlier if White breaks down again.

If you are in a deep league and you draft Julio in the first, you probably want some type of insurance. Roddy is way too expensive at his current ADP, so Hankerson is not a bad last-round pick. Don't think Hardy is close to ready.

Guy is going early-mid 7th in recent PPR drafts on MFL. Around guys like Vincent Jackson, Nelson Agholor, Charles Johnson, Mike Wallace, Kevin White, Michael Floyd. And IMO Roddy is the safest of any of these guys in PPR. Best track record with the best QB of the bunch. And Falcons aren't suddenly going to start running all over teams.......or stopping anyone on defense.

PPR: He's coming off finishing WR21 overall (and WR17 by PPG).

MFL10 PPR has him as late 6th, but I agree - good WR bet compared to most other options you have after him. However, if I am a Julio owner, I don't want to be capping my weekly upside by starting both, especially at said price.
