Roddy White - Well, looks like he has screwed us all (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Roddy White - WR - Falcons

Roddy White (hamstring) expects to play in Week 4.

Speaking after Thursday's blowout win, coach Mike Smith implied White would have played had the Falcons not been on a short week. He now has 10 days to get ready for Atlanta's Week 4 trip to Minnesota. A former iron man, White hasn't been anyone's idea of durable over the past two seasons, but is a cinch WR2 whenever he's healthy and playing opposite all-world beast Julio Jones.

Rotoworld:

Roddy White (hamstring) was held out of Monday's practice.

It was just an informal session the the Falcons coming off the Thursday night game, but it would have been nice to see White get some reps. White has said he expects to return for Week 4, but his Wednesday practice status will be telling. He needs to get in at least a limited session.

Wonder if hester is a good play this week with roddy and douglas hurting. Seems like he would get a nice bump in targets

Mike Smith was quoted saying the following:

"We anticipate tomorrow that Roddy's workload is going to go up," coach Mike Smith said, per ESPN. "That's going to depend on how he feels and recovers from today. I'm sure you've noticed but basically on Wednesdays, we've held him back when he's been healthy as well.

"I keep telling him a lot of it is going to depend on the surface that we're playing on in terms of the number of snaps that he has. ... It was good to have Roddy back out there to participate."

Is he saying that the surface they play on each week will dictate how much Roddy play's or he is strictly talking about practice snaps?? Anyone have insight into this?

SO glad I dropped him to not have to deal with this every week. Now you have to research field surface before you play him!? Ha!

Ehh guess w all can look to ward to a 5/60/0 type of game. Roddy was a decent value on draft day, & I forgot my rule about relying on any non-QB who is over 30 u.o

I pulled up every WR rostered in my league and sorted by FF points ytd. Looked for some guys who would be a good value in trade but realistic to get a serious response. I like Garçon and Steve Smith as decent values in return but I'd probably get laughed at. If I decide to take the riskier end, I'm looking at Quick or John Brown. Seems reckless but I'm tempted to bail, take the upside and hope for the best.

Roddy White says he's going to score a touchdown this week against the Giants.

White has practiced in full each and every day this week for the first time all season. With health on his side, he's confident. The Giants will likely stick Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on Julio Jones, leaving Prince Amukamara to contend with White. Amukamara was once a whipping boy, but has been steady the past two seasons and is PFF's No. 4 corner. White is a back-end WR2.

Rotoworld:

Roddy White caught 2-of-4 targets for 26 yards in Atlanta's Week 5 loss to the Giants.

He was targeted once right at the goal line, but the pass was broken up by Giants defenders. Roddy promised he would score a touchdown entering the week, but came up short. After being targeted 14 times in Atlanta's Week 4 game, Roddy was only targeted four times Sunday as Julio Jones was the obvious centerpiece of the offense. Expect a bounce back in Week 6 against Chicago.

He's done as an elite WR. He has lost speed. He and Andre Johnson are scouting for retirement homes right now.

Bot are still very good in ppr. They can't all be Julio Jones every week

I hear this every time an older WR is on the down slope. People just dont want to accept the facts.

Andre looked pretty good to me this week. White did too. Didn't have great stats and a couple of opportunities got away from him today but that was true of all the falcons today.

Yeah, Roddy has fallen off the cliff. Less separation than even the past couple of years, and now add dropped passes to the mix. If Odell Beckham looks like a reasonably active WR tonight, Roddy will be planted on my bench except for BYE weeks.

He caught a pass today and the guy on local Chicago radio referred to him as Mr Reliable. I immediately thought of this thread.

now? He always dropped a ton of passes

He's lost a step but Ryan still tries to feed him. It's kinda sad seeing Ryan fire it at Roddy with him completely covered.

so is the party over and there's no hope for a revival? i've been offered him in a deal for a very reasonable price.

Roddy had 3 very tough drops in the Bears game, and to be fair Julio had a couple of well. All were very tough catches, but had those catches been made the complexion of this game and Roddy's stat line would have looked very different. That said, the biggest issue is that the oline is in shambles and Ryan isn't getting the time to get the ball to his play makers. If the protection improves so will Roddy's production.

I am still holding out hope, but this is a tough week to expect a bounce back (@ Ravens).
