Roethlisberger > Romo (1 Viewer)

I believe all we'll have to do to settle this argument is make a poll titled "number of Dallas fan on this board compared to number of Pittsburgh fans on this board", and with that, you'll have a clear winner between Romo and Ben. Homerism at it's best.

Show me a Dallas fan who says Ben is better or show me a Steeler fan that says Romo is better and I will show you a rainbow with a midget at the end handing out million dollar bills.

Both these QB's are amazing, and each fan of these respective cities should be thrilled they have them. The debate is pointless. Not one person here knows all they need to know about these two players/teams to form any kind of intelligent response. Some of these opinions stated here are proof of that.

I agree the homers are going to take the side of their QB - that's to be expected, they watch their guy every week and both QBs are playing at a very high level right now. My take that Ben is a notch ahead is based on the fact that this season, he's been clearly the best player on a 7-2 team full of recent Pro Bowlers or potential Pro Bowlers (FWP, Faneca, Polamalu, Harrison, Ward, Farrior, Hampton, Taylor) and he's 25 years old. He is easily their MVP this year, no question about it. Now, perhaps Dallas fans can say the same about Romo, I don't know - I've only seen them play 3 or 4 times. I love Romo, but given a choice, I'd take Ben by a hair. If Cowboy homers prefer Romo, that's fine.

FWIW, John Clayton was on Mike & Mike this AM and said he believed most GMs in football, if given a choice of Romo, Roethlisberger, or Palmer to start a franchise with, would choose Palmer first, then Roethlisberger, then Romo.

I think Jessica Alba is hotter than Jessica Biel, but I would praise the lord almighty if I could get either.

As an NFL quarterback, it is my contention that Ben Roethlisberger is better than Tony Romo. Everyone seems to be aboard the Romo bandwagon, and some still seem unconvinced as to how good BR really is, but I am not. He is the real deal. Romo is really good, but needs to cut down on the mistakes before I can consider him as good as Roethlisberger.
Hmmm, Romo has 1.75 TD/Int, Ben R has only 1.48.
Romo has Witten and TO. And MBIII.
:ptts: Big Ben has Santonio Holmes / Hines Ward / Heath Miller and FWP hes not a one man show. All of those guys start every week for fantasy teamsIn fact... I like PIT WR2 better than th Boys WR2

You guys should be embarrassed for letting this piece of crap go 3 pages.

I am a Dallas fan so I vote Romo!

I am a Pittsburgh fan so I vote Rothelesberger!

Well done.

It's 1 week from the intial post.........I hope nobody's wish washy enough to change their mind in that short of a time span.

We all know this week didn't really matter in terms of this topic. If Dallas wins home field advantage and then loses to say the Giants their first playoff game, it'll be that Tony Romo can't play in the playoffs. He botched the snap last year and now with a great NFC team he couldn't win when it counted.

So, I'm wise enough to know that these types of performances during the regular season although fun to watch don't mean 1/2 as much as the few games they play past week 17.

Why not? There are firm believers on both sides that their QB is the best.. but there is a whole bunch of people on the margin that could go either way. How the two played today would surely make a difference in many people's minds. Moreover, one game in Romo's career (and to a lesser extent Ben) is a good % worth of his resume. So if you are just going off statistics, then this one game will also have a significant impact.

How did Dallas' "O" line play today? How did Pittsburgh's "O" line play today? Can't go by stats alone. Pittsburgh's line was horrid today. Anyone watching would concur. QB's can't do much when a line plays like that.

What I'm saying to you is I don't believe this game is that big of a deal. Did Rothlesberger lose his ring out there today?Romo is going to have to succeed in the playoffs to get bumped up into the elite QBs in terms of real life football. Fantasy wise, he's top 3 this year and may be for a few more years to come.I'm a big Romo fan but I can't sit down and convince a Ben Rothlesberger supporter that Romo's better because Ben's got the ring and overall he's played well. My suggestion is that if you don't or if someone doesn't have a firm opinion on these two in terms of who's better, wait till the end of this season to judge.I'll be honost, I think anything less than a SB appearance for the Cowboys would be considered a disappointment at this point. They're clearly in the top 2 teams in the NFC so to not think SB in the NFC would be underachieving. I need to see Romo play well in a playoff game or two. I think he can, I believe that he can but the public needs to see it.

True.Along with the talent around him (which is impossible to quantify), any meaningful discussion of player talent must also include equally unmeasurable variables such as 1) weather patterns 2) offensive schemes 3) opp. defensive schemes 4) referee propensities and 5) injury history.
