No news yet. Had an ice pack on during the first half and the guys they rotated in to replace him, Khary Campbell and HB Blades, were playing well. May not know his status, unless there's something bad on a potential MRI, until practice later in the week.

Per Gibbs' Monday presser, it's a knee injury which "may" require surgery. He didn't specify what kind of knee injury.

I would recommend making other plans for Sunday.

Torn MCL and ACL...brutal for him and a tough break for us as a week 15 ACL will hurt next yr much more than this year.

Jene, who will be starting in his place this week? Blades or Campbell.
Against the Giants, it was apparently Blades on "running downs" and Campbell on "passing downs." I think Randall Godfrey could be back from injury soon and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the starter.

:goodposting: I may have been premature on the Blades talk, though the team is very high on him.

so picking up Blades for this week isn't worth it

I don't know is the true answer. The team, for obvious reasons, isn't coming out and stating their intentions. If I had to guess, it'll still be Blades on run downs and Campbell or Godfrey on passing downs. If you're in a dynasty league though, grab Blades anyway. McIntosh's injury bodes well for him next year regardless.

Greg Williams update today (on video, in response to whether Blades will start): "You'll have to come to the ball game to see who starts." <_<

REDSKINS NOTEBOOKWilliams Expects to Rotate LBsBy Jason La CanforaWashington Post Staff WriterFriday, December 21, 2007; Page E04Gregg Williams, assistant head coach-defense, closely guards his starting lineup. So it was no surprise that he was not forthcoming about who will replace injured linebacker Rocky McIntosh against the Vikings on Sunday night. He did allow, however, that veteran Randall Godfrey, who was inactive last week, will be involved and expected to play a heavy role against the NFL's top-ranked running offense.Godfrey, 34, was signed just before the season to add depth at linebacker, and although he has lost some quickness, he remains a strong player suited to stopping the run. Williams praised the work of rookie H.B. Blades, who filled in on first and second downs for McIntosh, and veteran Khary Campbell, who played in McIntosh's spot on passing downs. "Depending upon the score of the ballgame and what kind of ballgame it is, we're going to try to rotate as many guys in as we can," Williams said. "And [Godfrey] is in some packages, yes. I think it does fit his style of play. He's an excellent run football player and I'm real glad we got him here because he's done some very good things in the run game all year for us."McIntosh was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and could miss all of next season recovering from surgery to repair torn knee ligaments.

During Gibbs' PC yesterday, he mentioned that trainer Bubba Tyer said Rocky could be ready for the 2008 season. He sounded pretty optimistic about it.

I'm going to keep Durant over him as I'm hesitant about his recovery. So that'll give me Durant and Beason as my LBing core.

With so much up in the air, this is hard to analyze. Obviously good news for Rocky, but if they hire Cowher, for example, does he install a 3-4 which seems to have always been his preference?

Linebacker Rocky McIntosh underwent successful surgery on his left knee on Jan. 4, the Redskins have announced.

McIntosh is expected to be ready for the start of the 2008 season, the team said.
