Romo owners...anyone got the minerals to roll him out against the legi (1 Viewer)

Listening to mike and mike they were talking about Romo's success this season throwing to the left (opposite of where Sherman plays). Anyone think that he can put up top ten numbers? I'm personally rolling bortles out, but wanted to see what others were doing...

Why do we keep getting this question every week?? There are yards to be had against Seattle via the air. They are money against the run but if you're patient and take what they give you through the air - you can get the yards - as Payton, Rivers, and Rodgers demonstrated.

Huh? Rodgers was awful. Manning got his production in the 4th. Romo is neither of those two.

The game is in Seattle.

If Kirk Cousins could scrape together a decent fantasy day vs them, Romo certainly can.

I think that game was at Washington--but I might be wrong. Seattle is a far different animal at home. Generally, I am a big Romo fan when it comes to fantasy this season--but I'm not sure if this is the week that I'd feel super confident in playing him.

Rivers did well, Payton was good...Rodgers was trash.

I am starting Sea D...Romo gets his yards, but he'll throw three picks.

With the injury to AJ Green, I may have to (had to add Sanu and drop a backup qb.) Good thing I'm playing a ghost. Money league and this guy still has Pitta starting at TE. That's why I'm ok with the possibility of 10 points from Romo.

really not sure what to do with romo @ sea or cousins @ ari or the scrubs on the wire. leaning romo at this point as he has been playing well lately. cousins having another meltdown is very scary despite his solid performance in a tough matchup on monday.

There really isn't a qb on the ww worth picking up imo

Austin Davis vs SF

Cousins @ Ari

Hoyer vs Pitt

Glennon vs Bal

Bortles @ Tenn

Orton vs NE

Carson Palmer/Drew Stanton/Logan Thomas vs Wash

Those are the guys available in my league and the only one I could see playing over Romo would be Palmer/Stanton.

IMO, Davis, Glennon and Orton each have an excellent chance to hang better numbers than Romo this week.

i can see starting all of them over romo.

i dont like davis too much tho, sf is a tough defense and their ball control, conservative, offense that starts running out the clock from the opening whistle really limits fantasy output for both teams.

locker, bortles and hoyer all have great matchups. palmer is hard to trust. i wouldnt pick him up just yet as he still may not play. obv orton is a bad play. theres more to it with a waive wire pickup bc it extinguishes a roster spot. last week that coulda been hillman, oliver, williams or cj anderson.

more i think about it, the more im ok with romo.

Exactly. Any of these guys could put up better numbers than Romo, and any could put up less, too. I like several for a one week play but not at the cost of dropping a McKinnon or a CJ Anderson. Romo week 5 is playing different than Romo week 1.

SEA is giving up the 12th most points to QBs so far this season. Sure, they've faced some stiff competition but I would still have expected better from the squad who was giving up ~5PPG less on average to QBs last year. I still don't particularly like Romo because it's in SEA but I do think you still have to give strong consideration to starting him if your back-up/replacement barely cracks the low-end QB1 mark.

That's a weird league you are in. Are there any quarters other than the 4th that don't get scored?

Traded Romo away for Brady just for this week, as I have Brees as my normal QB.

Because he isn't a plug and play QB. Dallas' run game sets up the pass game this year more than any other in recent years. Seattle is able to shut down the run game, which will impact the passing game. Seattle's secondary is pretty damn good.

Rodgers threw for 189 yards, 1TD and 1INT against them?

Half of Manning's stats came on the last drive, but fair enough.

Rivers did seem to torch them.

I think its a fair question, regardless.

Starting Foles over Romo.

If Romo were at home, it would have been a tougher decision for me. @SEA is a no-brainer no-start for me.

I'm not sure I would have made this move. Brees has a very tough fantasy playoff schedule while Romo has one of the most favorable fantasy playoff schedules. Romo also has a very favorable schedule the rest of the regular fantasy season. If the team you traded Romo to makes the playoffs--this move could very easily backfire. Good Luck.

Was going to start Dalton in place of Romo, but with all the Cincy players going down I don't have a choice anymore.

I was going to do the same but have the same opinion on the injured Cincy players. Not sure someone like Hoyer will perform better than either of them

I own Romo in three leagues, and I diversified a bit this week. I stayed with him in one league. Started Hoyer over him in the second league, and started Austin Davis on Monday night over him in the third league. I'm usually not a risk-averse type of person, but I can see Romo having a very ugly stat line. Even a pedestrian day like 16-25, 190 yards, 1 TD/2 INTs would not be a surprise. Can't have him taking a dump on all three of my teams. There just isn't any upside. Dallas won't give up on the run, so it's not like he's going to walk into CenturyLink Field and throw for 400 and 3.

I'm rolling with him. Have Brees on bye, already 4-1, playing a really weak team. My league also doesn't take points away for turnovers. So, I'm just praying for a 250 yards, 2 td game.

I'm going with Hoyer over Romo...I think. Or maybe Stanton/Palmer.
