Did anyone else see the interview with 'Rodent house'?

He was saying Stanton was likely to go late first, early second at latest. Teams are telling him they will consider drafting him late 1st. Said the latest he'd go is to the Lions in the 2nd.

The draft expert was laughing so hard...was saying he'll go no better than 3rd round.

Damn...Rosenhaus will do anything to pimp his players. What an ###. Wht would the Lions draft him in the 2nd if he'd still be there in the 3rd. Said it was "very likely" he'd be a better pro than Quinn or Russell.

How this terd says these kinds of things without laughing is....laughable.

 
You can't really blame the guy for doing his job, regardless of how annoying he is...

DR did get McGaehee in R1 w/ his knee still blown up.

 
Who is he promoting him to? The Fans? That won't get Stanton drafted any higher. He has already been evaluated and reevaluated by the teams. Talking to a draft show pimping your players really does nothing to increase the players value. What it does do is put Rosenhaus in the public eye and give the appearance that he is doing all he can to get the most value for his players which might be beneficial to Rosenhaus for other potential clients. Unless you really believe that GMs are watching that draft show taking notes.

 
If he creates enough buzz to convince the Lions (or someone else) to grab him in the 2nd because there is the perception that Stanton won't be there in the third, he has promoted him and done so effectively.

If I were an uppier tier QB prospect , then I would be represented by Condon. If I played any other position or were not a clear cut Top 10 pick QB, then I sign with Rosenhaus. Like him...love him...agree...disagree...but Rosenhaus is damn good at his job. This time of year hs job is to pimp his players and nobody is better at that game. He appears weekly on Fox Sports radio and manages to make television news on a daily basis. You either work or get worked by the process. He works it and he is constantly front and center.

As far as this not increasing the draft status of his players, I disagree. Yes, NFL teams have completed player evals and have everyone racked and stacked. However, NFL teams are not going to share notes. That would be like Coke showing Pepsi the secret family recipe. It is not going to happen. Enter Rosenhaus and his endless dialogue regarding his guys; his allegedly true information; his disinformation and manufactured truths and half-truths.

If a team really wants a guy and enough of this has been spun for several weeks via an agent or the agent (Rosenhaus), it just might make a team or teams take a player earlier than expected. There is a significant financial impact between being picked in the top 15 slots; next 15 slots or beyond the later half of the first round. Should a team buy this BS...and I think teams do from time to time...it is a substantial economic win for player and agent.

If it did not work, then agents would do nothing more than negotiate labor contracts after the fact and secure endorsement deals pre draft; post signing and throughout a player's career.

Not true...if a player is rumored to go to team X, Team Y may make a move to trade ahead of team X to nab the player. Hearsay has an impact in every draft.

A VERY GOOD chance. In fact, I'll tell you right now, he'll be gone before the 3rd. If the Raiders had a brain, they would grab Calvin Johnson 1st and either this guy or Trent Edwards in the 2nd. That is far better than the question marks of Quinn or Russell.

:mellow: I would rather see the Lions draft Stanton in the 2nd than Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell in the 1st. I really think Stanton is the real deal. He can make all the throws and he's mobile. He just needs some better coaching than what he got at Michigan State. I don't see a scenario where Stanton drops into the 3rd round. He will almost certainly be drafted in the 2nd. 1st round is also unlikely.

Not true...if a player is rumored to go to team X, Team Y may make a move to trade ahead of team X to nab the player. Heresay has an impact in every draft.

There's hearsay, and then there's Roseysay. I doubt that Rosenhaus' comments about his players do much but make NFL folks laugh.

It's working on Bloom, he has him going in the 1st round.
