Rudi Johnson Week 8 Injury Update (1 Viewer)

I really don't want to get sucked in by Kenny's big day against the Jets. I can't see myself starting him at this point, even over my current RB2 death squad of Chatman and Keith, unless the entire Steeler D comes down with the flu or something. I just can't seem more than 75 combined, 0 TDs. Anyone see anything different?

This really sucks. Rudi's a 1300 yd/ 12TD a year machine til I draft him.

I am watching this situation very closely as I am a Watson owner.

If Rudi is OUT I may start Watson over Portis. I have a bad feeling about Portis and the Redskins this week up in NE. Plus the guy I am playing is a Rudi owner. I love to add insult to injury.

I don't think Watson is going to do what he did last week - but 100 total yards and a possible score could happen.

I think we can stick a fork in Rudi for this week too. From RotoWorld:Rudi Johnson (hamstring) sat out Thursday's practice.Johnson also missed Wednesday's workout and looks increasingly unlikely to play a big role Sunday even if he's somehow able to suit up. Kenny Watson figures to be the lead runner Sunday, but the matchup against Pittsburgh is a rough one. The Bengals also practiced Thursday without LBs Ahmad Brooks (groin), who has been ruled out, and Caleb Miller (back).Source: Cincinnati Post
this is good news for Rudi owners, cause if he came back and started vs. Pitt it would have definitely lead to a RBBC or Rudi losing his job.Let Watson start this week.....

seriously, everyone's got a "what have you done for me lately" attitude going on in these boards (and elsewhere too)... After Watson runs wild against the Jets, he's suddenly the Bengals best RB and is going to take over Rudi's job..how will everyone's opinion change when the Steelers shut him down for 15 carries/40 yards?

As a Rudi owner, this is incredibly frustrating, and I am pissed off at Marvin Lewis for playing him in week 6 when he was clearly still hurt and in all likelihood probably aggravated something. At this point, I'm just hopeful to have him back for the playoff push.

I've been saying this for a while. The Steelers are going to shut down any cinci RB this week. No matter who starts this is not a good play in anything other than extremely large leagues or as a bye week/injury flex fill in to get a few points.I'm looking at Cedric or one of the JAgs RB's over either of the Cinci RB's this week.

The real NFL has that attitude as well, so we should to.The only guys who have their jobs locked up are the elite talents at their position, and Rudi never has and never will be an elite talent. He's been lucky the RB's they have drafted have had bad injuries leaving him as the ONLY option for Cinci.

That offense is a dream for a RB, any average RB can put up numbers in it.

I don't think Rudi is an elite talent but he's much better than average. The guy has put up over 1,300 yards and 12 TDs in three straight seasons and was damn good in the fourth while splitting time with Dillon. He may not be a superstar but he's easily one of the most under-rated and under-appreciated RBs in the league in my opinion.

He WAS all of that, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong folks, I don't think Watson goes superstud and takes the job, but he won't be faded out. Even if Watson were to take the feature role, Johnson would come in in short yardage.

NE is giving up more yards and TDs to RBs than Pitt is.

From Rotoworld:Rudi Johnson (hamstring) is listed as doubtful again this week.Rudi did some light drills during pre-practice warmups Friday, but hasn't gone through even a limited workout in two weeks. Kenny Watson, who had a huge Week 7, will start again. He makes for a solid flex play in points-per-reception leagues, but don't expect another big day against the Steelers. Oct. 26 - 2:55 pm et
Looks like Watson is going to be the one toting the rock this weekend.

Anyone want to throw out an educated guess as to whether Rudi might strap it up against Buffalo next week? I haven't been following this situation very closely, but next week I play the owner who has Rudi, and the guy really doesn't have another option at RB due to byes.

Thanks for any info.

I think that as long as Watson continues to play like he is, the coaching staff will be in no hurry to rush Rudi back to the field.

i think with only 2 wins on the season, that if they want to keep even the slimmest hope of playoffs alive they had better start winning outright and get Rudi in the backfield. not saying anything against Watson, but a healthy Rudi should keep him on the sideline.

Rudi has lost a step.I think at this point Watson is the better play.
