Rumor: Brandon Jacobs to ask for a trade (1 Viewer)

Ralph Vacchiano, NYG beat writer tweeted, in response to the Jacobs trade info:

--Is Jacobs tradeable? He's in 2nd year of 4-year, $25M contract that included $13 million guaranteed. He's making $3.65M this season.

--... and is due $4.65M in salary in '11 and $4.9M in '12. ... And his last 100-yard game was Nov. 9, 2008 -- none in last 21 games.
And Vick hasn't started a game in years....that highlighted stat means nothing....
sure it does he is stating that Jacobs hasn't had a 100 yard game in the last 21 games while vick was sittin in jail and didn't have much of an opportunity behind mcnabb.. proofread what you write in here I think that makes a ton of sense... Jacobs is overrated and they have Bradshaw/ware and jacobs is really a distraction they should trade him for some defense or Linemen. draftpicks... he isn't worth 13 mill guarantee. he is a fat slow rb with no quicks

Giants | Brandon Jacobs has not asked for trade Mon Sep 20, 01:20 PMUpdating a previous report, New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs has not asked to be traded at this time and the team is not willing to deal him, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

vick is at least winning games and putting up numbers I wouldn't compare the two. Vick is one of the most exciting players in the league... Im sure Minn, Buff, oak will be hopin to get their hands on him

Bradshaw owner who has been watching Jacobs and him for a long time now. I do think Bradshaw is a better overall back and should start, but the hate against Jacobs in this thread is a bit over the top. He made one bad run yesterday where he tried to cut back instead of picking a hole and hitting it.

I don't know all the facts about the helmet incident. It isn't good but it isn't like he directly assaulted a fan either; if indeed it was an accident and not intentional, then I don't think a suspension is in order. Then again, I think the league has gone way overboard with suspensions and fines.

I doubt he will be traded this season. Backs in general are not worth much as trade bait and he is worth more the Giants as a backup and short yardage back.

Another thing about Jacobs: I am just starting to think that big backs are not what they used to be. I think the league has changed and the era of 230-240 pound backs is gone. Plus, I am not sure that big guys are any more durable.
