Everyone needs running backs, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. You got very good value, Russell has been going mainly at 4 or 5 in most drafts.

Rookie drafts this year have been all over the place. The next tier after the top 3 is a big mess right now. I was really torn myself in a draft today - 16 teams, start 1-2 RB. I decided to go with Russell myself - I wasn't totally sold on any of the second tier RBs, I have two 1st round selections next year, and needed a franchise QB. I managed to pick up Rice with the 12th pick overall as well, and he was someone I was even considering mid-1st.It seems like trading out of the first round is almost the best course of action this year if you don't have a top 3 selection.

Absolutely correct. Picks 4-20 could be in any order, legitimately.

Russell dropping to #12 shouldn't be a surprise, although I do like the value.
