Ryan Matthews not in shape? (1 Viewer)

I, along with many other people, am expecting big things from Matthews this season. That said, his lack of conditioning and speed training in the off-season is disconcerting--it's nice to see him doing extra conditioning after practice, but what was he doing the last four months? Lockout or no lockout, there is no excuse for his showing up to camp in less than stellar physical condition. You would think that after battling injuries last season and underachieving, he would show up ready to make the 2010 campaign a distant memory. I'm not saying that won't come to fruition, but his lack of preparation is perplexing and worth monitoring this pre-season. Any comments from Norv?

On a different note, please provide a link about Tolbert being the 3rd down back this year. I love Matthews' talent and situation, but maybe going after Tolbert is the right

move here.

I read a Rotoworld blurb, but the link tells another story. Still undecided: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/jul/30/replacing-sproles-tall-order-bolts/
