S. Greene? (1 Viewer)

This guy was supposed to be a beast heading into the season after a strong finish and postseason.

What are the SP's opinion of him moving forward?

Is he a buy low?

Is he a hold?

Or is he someone who really doesn't value much at this point.

I would like to think that LT will tire (he's becoming less impactful) and that Greene will take over.

Thoughts?

I have been patient with Greene and I am not sure he will ever be "the feature back". If so, why would the Jets bring in LT? Unless LT gets hurt, nothing will change.

Rex told the NY daily news that he wants Greene to get more touches but IMO there is just not enough touches to go around in this offense right now. Greene definitely has value in dynasty but in redraft, only so much as LT's handcuff if he goes down or becomes severely limited with injury. The Jets passing game has been emphasized a lot more this season than last, and with good reason as they have some very talented receiving options in Holmes, Edwards, Keller, and especially LT. He's really only had 2 so-so games over the last two weeks.. he still had decent yardage just hasn't had the goal line opportunities. Look for him to bounce back this week as the Jets get creative with him as a receiving option out of the backfield. I expect Rex's brother to stack the box 7-8 deep and blitz alot, making Sanchez beat them through the air. In PPR, LT should benefit from this. The "amoeba" defense they ran against the pats will get torn up by the Jets run blocking.

Because they still needed a backup? Everyone was surprised to find LT had so much left in the tank. There's no shame in Greene taking a temporary back seat to a first ballot HOFer. IN dynasty, those who were high on Greene should remain so. IN redraft, he's a hold...LT is showing some signs of slowing a little, and the Jets have recently indicated they want to increase Green's workload.

Is he rosterable at this point in a re-draft?

Would anyone rather have him as a RB3 or RB4 as opposed to a QB3?

I don't know why you would even roster a third qb unless you are in a start 2 qb league. He is a hold right now in 10/12 team leagues.

I just hope he plays tomorrow, good matchup against the Lions. Missing the latest practice for "personal reasons" is never a good sign.

:goodposting:

doesn't anyone remember what the jets did with him last year? it worked out great for them, i don't see any reason why they wouldn't do it again. there on pace to be doing the exact same thing again. i've been happily buying low in all of my dynasties and am very high on his long term value

Shonn Greene-RB - Jets Nov. 12 - 8:59 am et

Running backs coach Anthony Lynn is latest member of the Jets staff to confirm that Shonn Greene's role will grow going forward.

"Shonn was built for late November, December, January," said Lynn. "These are the months that Shonn really takes off. He's running well and he's going to get more involved. No question about that." Because he doesn't catch passes, Greene needs a significant uptick in goal-line looks to accrue bankable RB2 value with LaDainian Tomlinson splitting touches.

I like Greene - especially in dynasty but the fact remains that even with a suppoed 50/50 split - LT is the guy to ride.....more experience, pass cathing, 3rd down role plus more likely to get the GL carries....So I am buying Greene in dynasty as I think he will slowly take over more next year but redraft he is a #3RB at best

Got more carries than LT yesterday. They were both in at the end of the game. Greene did a nice job of catching passes yesterday as well.

What's been going on with the goal line work the last couple of weeks? I know Sanchez had the 1 yd. run on Sunday. Was it a QB draw, or sneak or what and who was line up behind him?

ETA: it was a 3rd and goal, shotgun formation, and Greene was in the backfield.
