S. Holmes (1 Viewer)

I hope so I traded away Holt for him last week. Hines Ward has been taking all the redzone TDs, give it time Holmes will get some deep balls thrown to him.

Is he going to make any noise anytime soon? Homers? What's this guy's deal?
Game One- Pitt way ahead entire game handily. Ben only 14 pass attemptsGame Two- Nasty weather with a lot wind in Cleveland. Still got 4/94Game Three- Eagles defense manhandled Steeler offensive line, no time to go deep.In summary, don't give up just yet on Santonio. He does have promise as a borderline #2 or solid #3. If you are counting on him being a #1 than deal him for the best offer. By the by his matchup does not look particularly favorable vs. Ravens Monday night neither. Holmes owner :P

Holmes' role is the deep threat. Until the oline gives Ben more than 1.8 seconds of protection there's not much chance of him throwing deep with any consistency.

That about sums it up.But he'll still be in my lineup every week. The threat of the 24-point day is always there.

I drafted him to be my home-run hitting WR3, and he's absolutely killing me because I needed him to step up in the short term while I wait out Colston's injured thumbgina.

He is huge disappointment, so is Big Ben.
The results have been disappointing, but it has nothing to do with Ben or Santonio. Week 1 the Texans were horrible so no need to pass after the first quarter. Week 2 was ridiculously windy. Week 3 the oline and playcalling were horrendous. I guess you can put a little of the playcalling on Ben against the Iggles. Where were the quick slants and screens against that rush?

There are guys you quit on, and guys you have patience with.

Holmes should defintely be in the latter category, for the reasons outlined above. I'm barely even "concerned" at this point.

Holmes stats against Ravens...averaging 4 receptions for 82 yards and has three TDs in four games (all three came last season).

I have him in one of my leagues, but I have him paired up with Fitz, while I have Chambers and Cotchery on the bench...

Gosh I think I heard that analysis somewhere before.

:goodposting: My two must-have WRs this year were Marshall & Holmes, and I got 'em both. I'm still highly optimistic about Santonio.

Ben's injury problem hasn't helped. I'm not too stressed about Holmes not producing although it's disappointing as you wait all year for the season to start and you want your players to perform like you expected.

There's no reason to get rid of him, we just need Big Ben to get healthy and the O-line picking up some blitzes. If they can pick up some blitzes and get Holmes one on one with the secondary, we'll be in for some big weeks ahead.

And you are more concerned with Marvin Harrison?

games 1 and 3 were stinkers but he played well in game 2 in a windstorm, he had over 100 total yards. He'll be fine. Like everyone else said they just need a little more time to go deep, and they just don't have it right now. Ben threw 5 TD's last year on Monday night vs Baltimore in the rain. Lets hope for a similar performance this week, I think they will pass a little more since Willie Parker is out.

Very much so. I'm encouraged by the targets Marvin got on Sunday, but he still looks slooooooooooooooooooooow.

I heard this same be patient routine with Santana Moss last year.
So trade Holmes then. :lmao:
I'd be crazy to at this point. With that said, there's a difference between him improving and him not meeting expectations over the course of the season. That O-line is simply awful at pass protection, and when Ben isn't getting run over (not to mention hurt), has limited time to hit Hines or Heath, much less Holmes deep. And they face tough d's who will attack that weakness. He'll probably go off against Cinci, but looking for consistency from him week to week considering all these factors is going to be hard.

If the O-line can just stop Big Ben from getting sacked, Holmes will be fine. It's been frustrating being a Holmes owner. I have him in my auction keeper league for $16($200 salary). No freaking way I am giving up on this guy, just too much talent. He'll be fine as long as Big Ben gets some time to throw.

The Pittsburgh passing game is in serious trouble. And now their running game is in trouble too. They are lucky to be 3-1. I see around 8 more losses on the horizon.
