uh,yeah. Because with skills like his,who wouldn't give up draft picks?

A light at the end for Ingram dynasty owners maybe.....he'll probably go to the Niners and ruin Hyde now.  :wall:

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Saints would be open to trading head coach Sean Payton this offseason.

The Saints are 5-8 this season and it appears that Drew Brees, who has one year remaining on his contract, might not be long for New Orleans. The same goes for Payton as the Saints appear to be headed for a full-fledged rebuild. With ownership questions and a tricky cap situation to contend with, getting Brees' contract off the books could save New Orleans a much-needed $40 million. Payton was pursued by the Dolphins and 49ers last offseason before agreeing to a five-year extension through 2020. With Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh reportedly uninterested, Payton could be a name to watch as the Rams look to fill their head coaching vacancy.

I would take him as as HC in a heartbeat if I were the Rams. The Rams should go after that trade.
With a good defense that could be a good fit but without Brees I question how effective the offense would be - especially with his clock mismanagement and curious tendancies to move away from his elite players for extended periods.

Yeah - Rams fans probably wouldn't want him either.

I just want to see the reaction of Gurley owners if this happens.

How about the reaction of Gurley himself.

Gurley " Hey coach glad to have you, ready for you to revamp this playbook and get us in the endzone"

Payton " Well, you are going to need to share that playbook, I just signed Asiata to take half your carries and all the goal line work and Ronnie Hillman to take take all the passing downs, but you will be fresh for golf and watching the playoffs on television"

You have to wonder how much teams would give up for a guy who is 19-26 in his last three seasons.
Considering how many teams will be looking for a coach, he could be the best name available.

I still think Josh McDaniels is by far the best coach on the market and I am hoping GB gets rid of McCarthy and signs him. I think he fell victim to the Tebow thing and never had a chance to succeed.

Payton could be a big name though... Someone like Jacksonville, LA, or even Buffalo, Jets if their positions become open... Payton would be much better than other retreads out there.

I happen to think Payton is very over rated and I'd be surprised if a team traded a lot for him- he's living off of his early success where much of the work was done for him. He's essentially taken a great franchise and run them into the ground.
