Saints / Pats Monumental MNF Faceoff Thread? (1 Viewer)

How can you not put the ball in Brees hand on 3rd and 4? No time to be cute Payton.

I loved the first play call, as it was like, "Okay, we are going to attack you all night," but then they got all cute with short dinks and dunks. Sean Payton definitely has some Mike Martz in him, where he wants you to see how clever he is with odd play-calling at the expense of doing what works.

For what it's worth - the local radio pundits seem to think that Maroney was going to get a lot of work this week.

Sedrick Ellis is back, I've been hearing for weeks about how he's the only reason behind the Saints run stopping woes.

We'll see tonight I guess....

Impressive drive.

I think the Patriots are gonna show tonight that if you don't turn the ball over, that Saints defense is more than beatable.

I sure don't want to recreate something already started (could have sworn there was a thread, just could not find it).

BUT, what are people here thinking on this game? Would love to know.

Because this is the biggest regular season game in New Orleans Saints history.
Bigger than the Katrina game?

This is a pretty nice start to a game. Even the doinked field goal made it more interesting.

I love the Belichickian confidence.

I'm on a slight dvr delay here, but on that Pats TD, a false start should have called. The TE in motion moved forward. I thought I saw it in real time, so I went back, and he definitely moved. That would've been a field goal instead.

I bet the Patriots so what do I care...

Im actually shocked how many people are picking the Saints. I just dont see how the Saints cornerbacks can stop the Pats passing game. Ill say Pats by more than 10.
Have you watched them much this year? There defense is better than you think and their running game is better than the Patriots, nevermind the fact they're playing at home, which is a huge advantage for the Saints.
of course ive watched. you do realize theyve had a ton of injuries on the defensive side of the ball recently?
