Do you ppt the salt on right after slicing or do you use a salt packet when you are about to eat the watermelon?

Ok i just tried this. I put the salt on the entire watermelon, then cut up the watermelon bit didnt taste any difference. I only tasted the salt when i licked the outer green part.

Tastes like cold sea water. Vote.....NO!
You're not supposed to coat it in salt...just a pinch. It brings out the sweetness and makes it even more refreshing.Bunch of unrefined rednecks in here.
If you're eating watermelon in the first place, you're probably an unrefined redneck. Over 99% of all watermelon is consumed during Sunday picnics at Southern Baptist churches. Source: USA Today.

You're not gonna hook much with that bait.

No, this is addressed in

So some guy who was alive when Lincoln was shot is the authority here? Even his salt is archaic. Coarse sea salt is the way to go, and he's completely wrong about salt taking away the sweetness. In fact, salt enhances the sweetness.Video fail.

Why ruin the integrity of the ingredient?
1) watermelon is disgusting.
What the hell?I'd deport you just for thinking that.
terrible stuff. no redeeming qualities.

while we're at it.. corn can get bent, too
Corn is okay as long as its not transformed into the vile stuff known as cornbread or creamed corn. As long as it stays in its natural form, its legit. Now let's keep this train on track, if you wanna talk corn, start a new thread.

Silver queen white sweet corn, picked fresh and boiled or roasted and a bunch of butter and salt is a little bit of heaven.
I used to agree with this....but now I enjoy corn with zero toppings, its sweet and delicious by itself. Had a plain ear of grilled corn earlier with a pork chop and potato salad, and some watermelon with salt for dessert. Gotta love summertime. That said, much like watermelon, there's nothing wrong with a little salt to bring out the natural sweetness in corn. It doesn't NEED butter, but I won't judge you if you use it.
