This game didn't prove much of anything.Seahawks owned the Redskins and this proves they can win on the road
He is the MVP of the game in my mind. The catch in the 1st half, the catch to get the 3rd and long to setup the go ahead TD. He might have not scored the TDs but without him they punt 2 times and lose most likely.Miller putting team on his back.
It doesn't matter what the player wants. The coach is in charge, not the player. RGIII was both at risk and playing poorly. That's two reasons to replace him.I guess I'm in the "You play to win the game" mentality. Ask Dan Marino if he would have liked to come out of a playoff game in this scenario.Couldn't disagree more. He was limping severely in the second half. It wasn't even a hard decision, because it made him ineffective. He should have gotten Cousins in much earlier, because it would have both protected the franchise QB from further injury and put a more effective QB in the game.Bummer... That didn't look good.I don't see any reason to jump on Shannahan, though. A leg injury, or anything non-head it's really up to the player. (Unless he totally failed a structural exam on the sideline, but I doubt it.)
He's there anyway. It means you have money. You know you've got problems when Dr. Andrews goes to your games
Griffin hurt bad that time :( Hope hes ok.
His ACL's shot. He's not okay at all. That's why it shouldn't be left up to him.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Injured players play hurt in the playoffs all the time. This time it worked out horribly for Griffin, but Shanny didn't do anything dozens of coaches haven't done before.Griffin made the decision to play
I don't think so Bobby, last I heard Ryan has both his arms and legs working for him. That's why they play the games though but This game changed dramatically when Griffin slowed down ( he was never right to begin with) and Washington became 1 dimensional and their passing game isn't their strength, where Atlanta will be able to pass the ball a lot better. As I said early on in this thread, the downside to a running QB is that he will take unnecessary shots all season long, so enjoy RG3 while we can before the injuries pile up on his body.Good gameSeattle can beat ATLHoping the NFCCG is Packers-'hawks grudge match
why is andrews even at the game when it's clear they don't even listen to him? You give RG3 a drive or 2 in the 2nd half to see if he's recovered. But when it's clear he hasn't you pull the plug. WHen he limped for that 7 yard scramble isn't that clear enough that not only is he pretty much done, he's become ineffective.Bringing in Kirk Cousins up by a FG isn't the worst position in the world to be in, it's not like you got Tebow/Sanchez coming in. At that point i may be able to understand the desperation.Unbelievably bad move. Love that Andrews spoke up about it.Shanny should be fired.
who should make the decision? That's why it shouldn't be left up to him.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Injured players play hurt in the playoffs all the time. Whoever said (maybe 2 or 3 did) that his huge low scoop for a first down saved the game.... absolutely right, imo.Miller is player of the game if they win this.
Atlanta will be able to pass the ball, but they can't run the ball, with Ryan, Turner, or Quizz.I don't think so Bobby, last I heard Ryan has both his arms and legs working for him. Exactly. It should have been obvious to anyone with two eyes that RGIII was not physically able to execute. Set aside the fact that you are putting your franchise player at risk of serious injury, he was hurting their chances of winning the game.It doesn't matter what the player wants. The coach is in charge, not the player. RGIII was both at risk and playing poorly. That's two reasons to replace him.I guess I'm in the "You play to win the game" mentality. Alsways gotta be a doosh even when people admit they were wrong? Pretty silly. Especially when you complain of others being dooshes.Thanks. I'll let the refs know you now approve of the call.Just popped back in quickly to say that I reverse my opinion of the roughing call. The replay I saw at the time didn't look that bad to me, but the replay angle they just showed in the 4th qtr... automatic flag and good call.
Most players will attempt to play through just about anything. A coach sometimes needs to protect players from their own worst enemies...themselves. It was pretty obvious that RGIII was playing on 1 leg. Hopefully their franchise guy isn't injured too seriously.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Injured players play hurt in the playoffs all the time. This time it worked out horribly for Griffin, but Shanny didn't do anything dozens of coaches haven't done before.Griffin made the decision to play
I hope the Seahwaks stay on the east coast and they don't fly back to Seattle.
Fly to Atlanta tomorrow and stay there.yup that's like saying we should leave it up to the boxer to decide when he's done. No when the guy is taking too much punishment the ref needs to step in and just take him out of the fight. That's why it shouldn't be left up to him.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Best Wild Card weekend in a long time. Three great games capped off with the ROtY (Russell)this has been the most unwatchable weekend of football since the preseason. Sucks about RG. Hope he's ok.
His ACL is blown, you could see it. I bet it was partially torn already. Which makes it not as big of a deal as everybody is going to make of it. Although still BS. Was going to need to be repaired regardless. JMO.The coach, based on inputs from the player and the medical/training staff, and also based on watching the player perform on the field (assuming he goes back in at all, as RGIII did).RGIII was clearly struggling with the knee and it was preventing him from passing or running effectively. So even if you decided to let him play initially, it became clear there was no longer any need to further risk his health when he wasn't able to help the team in this game. He should have been pulled long before the last injury.who should make the decision? That's why it shouldn't be left up to him.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Are you a doctor or do have Xray vision?Griffin hurt bad that time :( Hope hes ok.His ACL's shot. He's not okay at all.
You want to talk about RG3 not being even 75%... sure. But that doesn't have anything to do with the Seahawks O not panicking and clawing back into the game.Wait for all the Seahawks fans claiming how they owned the Redskins and this proves they can win on the road...
Lots of Tampa 2 - with LB blitzes - key will be the old man for Atlanta Tony Gonzales. I think this D can stop the FalconsAtlanta will be able to pass the ball, but they can't run the ball, with Ryan, Turner, or Quizz.I don't think so Bobby, last I heard Ryan has both his arms and legs working for him. Disagree. They will be better able to prepare in their own facility that they are used to and will be better rested sleeping at home this week rather than in a hotel.I hope the Seahwaks stay on the east coast and they don't fly back to Seattle.Fly to Atlanta tomorrow and stay there.
That way he and Mr pack can bag on Seattle fans from a high horse they don't belong on. Knew Mr P would be like that, kinda surprised pstx is.Dude...it does not seem to have been that bad in here...why do this and egg it on?Wait for all the Seahawks fans claiming how they owned the Redskins and this proves they can win on the road...
Wanna make a bet on it?Are you a doctor or do have Xray vision?Griffin hurt bad that time :( Hope hes ok.His ACL's shot. He's not okay at all.
No....no it's not. Here's the prob, rg3 long term health aside, he (and the offense) were worthless after he reagrevated that knee. Cousins has played in 2 must win situations this season and won. As a coach, you have to say cousins give them a better chance to win today, and that's not hindsight, that was glaringly obvious at halftime.I think some of you are being over dramatic. Injured players play hurt in the playoffs all the time. This time it worked out horribly for Griffin, but Shanny didn't do anything dozens of coaches haven't done before.Griffin made the decision to play
I remember when Peterson tore his. He couldn't put weight on it and was in way more pain.Wanna make a bet on it?Are you a doctor or do have Xray vision?Griffin hurt bad that time :( Hope hes ok.His ACL's shot. He's not okay at all.
Really? I got the impression you were. Just have a lot of Seahawks on you FF teams? Not a Seahawks fan nor Redskins fan, but I wishRGIII all the best.
I don't see that happening at all. He's THE surgeon for the league. His word is like Gods. I don't know how anyone would side against him.You know that James Andrews is going to be the Skins scapegoat by this organization.Unbelievably bad move. Love that Andrews spoke up about it.Shanny should be fired.
sad thing is that I wouldn't be surprised if they try to bring him back.
Most of the Seahawks are. Too bad they have an excellent QB who seems all class, throws the doosh balance off.Wow, Sherman...the ultimate dooshbag!
I don't think that was the field. I just think he planted, made lateral, twisting movement to change direction (as anyone would), and the knee just couldn't take it.Crappy field did not help there - that was real bad looking
Good gameSeattle can beat ATLHoping the NFCCG is Packers-'hawks grudge match

Good for you. You must also be a doctor with Xray vision, cool.Put your money where your mouth is; I will.I remember when Peterson tore his. Well, I promised in that Seattle vs. Washington pre-game chatter thread that I would come on here and take my medicine if the Skins lost. So here I am. Congrats Seattle. The Seahawks are a solid team; good luck in the next round. As a Skins fan, I have mixed emotions. On the one hand, I am extremely happy and proud of the team. No one picked them to do anything this year and they made the playoffs...that is one great accomplishment. On the other hand, watching the gaame, I think they should put in Cousins much earlier in the game. That's on Shanahan...he needs to overrule RGIII for the good of the team. I think this was a winnable game for a while and they really hindered themselves by staying with RGIII even though he was so injured. That said, Seattle is a fine team who deserved to win this game. Congrats and good luck vs. Atlanta.
sirSo trueMost of the Seahawks are. Too bad they have an excellent QB who seems all class, throws the doosh balance off.Wow, Sherman...the ultimate dooshbag!
But you know Seattle would've lost otherwise. Seems contradictory.I don't think so Bobby, last I heard Ryan has both his arms and legs working for him. Looked like the ground was quicksand there and gave out as he planted and boom it tore as he did he tried to turn and did the splits- a firmer grass field and I don't think that happens.I don't think that was the field. I just think he planted, made lateral, twisting movement to change direction (as anyone would), and the knee just couldn't take it.Crappy field did not help there - that was real bad looking
I don't want to put money on it. I think you are revelling in RGIII's misfortune. You are a complete loser.Good for you.
