Ouch. Not really River's fault though.
What happened?
He got sacked and fumbled. Getting sacked is not a good excuse.
He got crushed. Oben didn't block out and they bullrushed right over him.
To be clear, are you saying that every time he gets "crushed" and fumbles it's not his fault?
No. I'm not even saying that instance wasn't at least partially his fault. It's to be expected that he fumbles some of those though. The first two were concentration lapses.

First half thoughts from a Seahawks homer:

* Seattle interior offensive line looked great with Spencer and Womack starting. Hasselbeck was consistently able to step forward into the pocket to avoid the pass rush off the corners.

* Alexander and Engram were the first Seattle skill position players to sit after starting.

* Burleson improved from the previous weeks and led Seattle in targets, but ran a slant too flat allowing the DB to step in front of the pass. However, he did make a nice catch on third and sixteen almost getting the needed yardage.

* Mili left the game with a knee injury. Severity unknown. Down to third string TE Will Heller. Not good.

* Tatupu is everywhere. 7 first half tackles. Going to be a monster in IDP leagues.

pretty standard I thought Merriman is a 3 down backer... Also I thought all his sacks last year came mostly on third downs.. If they take him out on third downs he wont be that big this year....

Nice 34 yard run by Morris on opening drive of third quarter. However, very evident he lacks the extra gear to go all the way.

He made a decent cut in the hole....but there was a VERY clear running lane there. Great blocking. The problem with Momo is his inability to pickup a 3 or 4 yard gain when getting hit near the line of scrimmage.

Phillips is actually a better pure pass rusher. Merriman gets a lot of publicity, but they have quite a deep LB core.

Oben isn't playing.I can't see the game until 11:30 (it's blacked out here), but I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me if that was Leander Jordan who gave up the sack or somebody else.

It was Goff, sorry. Jordan is actually playing decent.

I have a weird question. I should know the answer, but I don't.

When the #1 QB is the holder for FG attempts, and he is already out of the game in the preseason, does he still come in to hold for FGs? And what's that rule about the #3 QB being in the game before the 4th Q or something... the starter cannot come back in? Or is that only in the regular season?

I'm not on drugs, seriously. Well, not at the moment.

I don't know of any NFL teams whose starting QB is also the holder. But if that were the case anywhere, then I would imagine he'd hold the whole game. I don't think many teams have a backup holder. (Being a holder means taking time away from punting/quarterbacking during practice in order to work with the snapper and kicker. Teams don't want two people to have to do this. They also generally don't want their starting QB to have to do this.)
And what's that rule about the #3 QB being in the game before the 4th Q or something... the starter cannot come back in? Or is that only in the regular season?
It's not the #3 QB. It's the emergency QB. In the regular season, that will generally be the third QB. But in the preseason there's no emergency QB. Teams still have very large rosters, and all players are allowed to be activated.

Thanks, MT. No #1 QBs hold anymore, eh? I remember Theismann used to be the holder. Some teams liked having their starter hold because after all, who would be more accurate passing on fake FG attempts?

Jake Plummer holds on all of Denver's FG attempts. Shanny flirted with making Knorr or Saeurbrun the holder, but Elam likes having some consistancy at the holder position, and apparently Plummer has ridiculous hand-eye coordination and the like, and is some fantastic natural holder. Plus, like you said, it makes fake FGs a more credible threat.

Thanks for this and the target updates.
