"Shameless" (2 Viewers)

Average episode last night.  Funniest parts were the asian kids leaving (giving V the shiv - toothbrush with the razorblade attached to the back of the head as well as Kev calling them is little bouncers) and the scene where V and Kev arrive at the hotel.

Yeah, pretty damn boring for sure.

Sherilyn Finn porked up a bit (as expected).  Nice to see a bunch of it landed in her boobs.

Subtitles for Carl and his homies gangsta conversation, Frank's rant about free speech, that's about it for laughs this week. I'm going to miss the refugee kids. And professor's boobs.

This show is done, nobody has any interesting arcs left. We don't care about Debbie's baby, Fiona learning to live her own life, Redhead's gay romance, and especially Lips's broken heart.

The Russian, Kev & V, and Carl are carrying this season, if you could call it that.

Luckily, once Lip man's up, there should be some good Sorority House Basement Reverse Gang Bang scenes.

Hopefully this is the final season.

Pretty much agree.  Frank and Kev carry the show.  Lip's turned into a ####, which is something he's not supposed to be.  The other character story lines are off the rails.

Good Call

Caught up on the season over the last week and had one primary takeaway. Found this thread and my most recent post was basically repeating what I was thinking:

Lip has to now rank even higher than Jerry Seinfeld on the "outkicked his coverage" TV character list.
I can't NOT be distracted by how all these smoking hot chicks lust after this hideous looking dude. That actor is the luckiest guy in the industry.

Because the show has never been great? Solid season in relation to what? A show like The Wire? Breaking Bad? Game of Thrones?
Having to compare Shameless to any of those shows seems almost as stupid as your low expectation premise. I've never once had a conversation that went... Hey! If you like (insert any of those threw shows here), you'll love Shameless.

Ok.

I shouldn't have an opinion different than yours. Got it.

  • One of the best parts of Shameless - and something GOT, Treme, Wire etc always had an issue with was editing between the multiple story lines going on. On Shameless it seems to work perfectly - sometimes a quick cut in and out and then boom to the other story line that is an extended take they just seem to fit it all in seamlessly.

Jesus...I was comparing this season to previous seasons.
Ok...no need to refer to me so formally.

I've never been blown away by any of these seasons. They're fun and entertaining, but utterly ridiculous and my expectations have always been low. Also, I was making a joke. Let me know how the long the coal takes to turn to diamond though.

Most girls including my wife thinks he's gorgeous. My wife's cousins saw him at a bar, took pictures with him, and basically went gaga the whole time. All the Facebook comments were from chicks saying how jealous they were.

Fame = attractiveness. If he wasnt famous hed probably be pretty lonely.

Guy has no chin.  It just kind of is absorbed into his neck.  Must be his Droopy Dog eyes that wins over the ladies.

eta: I'd like to point out that I've never seen the two in the same room together.

Lip's "therapy" with Queenie was hysterical....the commune was funny as well but seemed out of place.....gay story line is just not interesting....not a fan of the characters without Mickey!  I do miss Frank just being loaded most of the time though.

Overall this season has been a small step back but still funnier then anything else on TV - any idea if there are more seasons on the way?

Great episode all around.

Kevs reaction to V telling him about her and Svetlana :lmao: :lmao:

and "Are we gonna have  a f### schedule, or a f### calendar?"

Until about a season and a half ago, I never realized there was a short segment after the first credit flashed. I always stopped the DVR/On Demand immediately. One day I'm going to rewatch just to see what other amazing scenes I've missed. Or maybe see if they're compiled online somewhere.

Its not all episodes as they're always comedic.  So when the episode ends on a particularly dramatic note, they omit a post credit scene.

Solid season. Everyone takes you on a roller coaster of getting out of the hood and then back down.

Don't think I like where they're taking Frank for the finale....he's a #### up, but he's never been evil.

He's beaten his kids and then called child services on them when they kicked him out.  He's been evil plenty.
