"Shameless" (1 Viewer)

So just finished the last episode of Californication and was looking for the next Showtime series to burn through....is this the best option? Watched 1st 2 episodes but wasn't sure about committing.

Into Billions too but am caught up.....like to have a series I can knock out a ton of episodes.

If Fiona is insufferable, what is Frank?  He's got zero redeeming qualities.
But that's Frank.  He's doesn't even try to do the right thing, he's motivated purely by selfish reasons.  Fiona thinks she doing everything for everybody else when in fact she's ultimately just about as selfish as Frank.  She's a fake while Frank isn't.  Both are pretty horrible people.

Outstanding and true

Once again, I'm late to the terrific television party.  I have never heard of this show until last night, and watched the first episode.

Wow.

Cancelled cable a while back, so I missed the last 2 seasons but finally got caught back up. Damn, I love this ####### show. Fiona and Frank were brilliant over those last couple of episodes. Fiona in the yard after the fight (lighting into Frank, then Sean). Frank at the wedding, of course.

Fiona's taste in men really is annoying. Of course, she ####ed over the one decent guy she's been (Gus). I'm glad to see Sean gone, but I fear it just means another round of Jimmy.

I think I missed Kev and V the most. And Svetlana is pretty much perfect in every way.

Not every storyline has been a hit, but the show has been almost always solid and often brilliant for 6 seasons, which is quite a feat. I might pick up a Showtime subscription on Sling for S7 (though binge-watching is definitely better).

The new season (S7) starts October 2. Other seasons have always started in January I believe, wonder why the early start. I think I prefer winter time viewing of this show but I'm looking forward to it none the less.

I binged through all the seasons on Netflix, I'm going to wait a few weeks before ordering showtime so I can do the same with this season. I've read online that if you have showtime on demand that you can view the first episode of this season.

I still like the show.  New Gallaghers are funny.  Kev/V/Svetlana still funny.  Fiona finally sticking up for herself.  Carl's is ok.  The two redheads can die as far as I'm concerned.  Last two seasons Lip has been a #####.

Skipped all the posts because I didn't want to read any spoilers.

I'm on season 6 episode 9, Frank and his "friends" snorted up all that coke. I wonder how he's gonna get out of this lol.

I just found out about this show this past summer and I've been binge watching ever since. It's so addicting, I love it so much.

Yikes @ Ian's new boyfriend being HIV+. That would have been a deal-breaker for me.

Hopefully I can finish out season 6 this weekend.

I still like it too.

This season has been a bit different in that nothing really catastrophic has happened to anyone yet.

I thought Debbie might get busted hard when she was running her baby buggy theft/resell game but she didn't. (she did get busted for shop lifting but got out of it thanks to Fiona)

I thought Ian killed that girl that jumped out of the ambulance after he took off her restraints.

I'm not sure how Fiona is operating a speak easy so openly but she is (even had cops in there).

Frank is relatively upstanding with his homeless shelter work.

They're most likely building up to something (Frank doing something despicable or the Russian grandpa perhaps) by season's end....

Which kids did he beat? I don't remember that.
In the first episode (?) he punched Ian because Karen's dad confronted him at the bar about them messing around.

Him and Lip have gotten into countless fights.

I guess "beat" is a strong word, but Frank is a POS. I don't think I've ever had such strong feelings about a fictional character. Him calling CPS and screwing that lady out of heart transplant were so terrible.

Season 7 is definitely more light hearted than than 5 and 6.

I'm loving Fiona's new attitude. She's sacrificed so much for her family, it's time she focused on herself. I wish her and Vee were still friends, however.

Debbie is so annoying now.

Ian and Lip are kind of useless at this point.

Kev, Vee & Svetlana + Fiona are my favs.

Today's episode was pretty good.

I would totally watch a Kev/Vee spinoff
Kev killed it last night.

And when Edda said "who's the negro?" Fiona whispering "they don't call them that anymore".   :lmao:

Just waiting for another bottoming out of Fiona, it's been too good for her lately.

Yep - she'll buy that property and it will have a bunch of liens or something on it and she'll get screwed

Lip is, imo, the best character on the show. He is slowly transforming into Frank and even though he can see what his future holds if he stays on his current path he can't seem to get out of his own way.

How bad is Fiona gonna get screwed on that property.  I hate that they ledt that out there until next season.

I guess that doesn't bother me versus how bad this finale was.  The good news is, Monica will never be back.  That's probably worth it.  I think it would have seemed pretty rushed to put that story to bed last night.

I'm going to call that someone will dig up Monica to get that Meth.  I have a feeling it will be to cover some cost to do with that money pit Fiona just bought w/o inspections.

Oh...they buried the meth with her?  I really tuned out as this episode went on.  Good call!

Frank should be on a great bender to start S8 too.

Wait.... what? I thought she said she was going to have all inspections and whatnot done? Did I miss something?
EDIT: Nevermind I see that last night's episode covered that. Awesome.

I thought the dude showed up at Patsy's with paperwork that included inspection type stuff after Fiona missed the appointment with him.  Later in the episode she made the deal.  I'm assuming she took his word on everything.

Also, someone is gonna come looking for the meth. When they went to the storage unit, Deb asked if Monica was living there...Carl replied if she was, she was living with a dude because of the mens clothes there. There was no way that was Monicas meth. She wouldnt have been able to keep her hands off of it.

I was expecting a bigger meltdown from Fiona. She clearly has the most issues with Monica, for good reason.

I definitely think the meth is going to be a factor next season. You can almost guarantee they're gonna have to dig Monica up lol..

Pretty sure season 8 is the last season, it should be anyway. The kids are becoming older and depending less on Fiona, that's what made Shameless great IMO.

I wish they had addressed Svetlana and the bar, I guess we'll have to wait until next season.

She made the deal by a handshake, on the premise that she could/would get financing.  I'd suggest the deal has not gone hard, has not been consummated.

That said, I fully expect it to be and for her to get screwed in the property, on the property and by the property.

She had the building keys in her hand at the end

If the deal goes south thats nothing earth shattering. Theyve lost money before. I dont think thats anything groundbreaking for Shameless.

Yeah, but if they go broke, then what? Do they resort to a life of crime? Petty theft and some scams maybe?  Maybe some fraud mixed in.

On Shameless?  That's just crazy talk.

On a Breaking Bad type of binge watch with Shameless right now. Phenomenal. 3 seasons watched in 2 weeks.
Wife & I did the same thing. I would recommend slowing it down and not moving too fast though - I don't know if it was the show itself, or our fatigue of the show, but by seasons 6/7, we were just watching it as part of 'going through the motion.'

We did 7 seasons in like a month and a half.

I can never watch more than three or four episodes in a row.  And I check out a month before its over most seasons (last was exception).  It just hits WAY close to home with my childhood.  Great show though.
