Shane Vereen (1 Viewer)

It's a pick 'em matchup wise for me with Lacy, Stacy, Vereen and SJax. Been benching SJax and going with the others but he's been looking better recently
To be honest Vereen looks to be your #2 behind Lacy out of that Group this week.
Lacy Stacy Vereen rhymes a lot better than Lacy Vereen Stacy.

SJax doesn't rhyme with anything.
Therefore SJax should not be played out of that group.

Pretty much how I've been making my decisions so far...

In PPR do you guys like Vereen over Levean Bell? I already have Antonio Brown so I don't know if I should plug in Vereen
Le'Veon has been getting a lot of receptions as well and has one of the highest utilization rates among all RBs. I'd think most would go Bell, but there's a strong argument for either back this week.

I've been thinking that the attention gronk demands has helped Vereen produce - at least to some degree - but gronks absence certainly didn't hurt him. Interesting.

He was on my bench......but I had a bye this week. Luckily in my other league he was on my opponent's bench. Looks like I'll be starting him next week.

I don't have a blog, sorry. If you want help with your fantasy team feel free to PM me.
Why would any one want help with their fantasy team from a guy who sat Vereen today?
I had a bye this week so no reason to set my team, please follow the thread before posting. Thank you.

You should still start him.

Rotoworld:

Shane Vereen rushed three times for nine yards and one touchdown and caught 12 passes for 153 yards in the Patriots' Week 14 win over the Browns.
Vereen was a monster in the passing game, drawing a whopping 17 targets. After Rob Gronkowski suffered what's believed to be a torn ACL midway through the third quarter, Tom Brady leaned on Vereen heavily. On a late third-quarter touchdown drive, Vereen accounted for all 72 yards of offense on two catches and a six-yard scoring plunge. His big grab was a 50-yard connection down the left sideline in Craig Robertson's coverage. Vereen is going to draw a ton of targets with Gronkowski likely out for the rest of the season. The RB2 could push for RB1 numbers over the final three weeks. Start Vereen every week.

Gronk going down was huge for him.

No, not ridiculous at all.

Between Vereen and Harvin, had a feeling one of these guys would help me vault to the finals in my flex. Being proactive before his return from injury, and 2 weeks before was even on others' radar, is paying huge dividends.

I never cut him. GB deep rosters.

Now THAT's patience. And foresight. Well done, RN.
We have an IR spot, and his owner still cut him. Idiot. I picked him up right away, stashed him, and now he's going to win me my league. Only problem for me is who do I bench: Murray, AJ green, Keenan Allen. So far, Murray gets the bench next week against my awful packers- although they did look good against sjax

With gronk out, Vereen has the value of a top 5 rb in PPR, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Vereen got 8-10 catches for 100 yards the rest of the way. He might actually run the ball too

In both leagues I drafted Vereen in, I dropped after the injury. Was able to pick him back up in both a few weeks before he came back. Could be the reason I win a championship.

Traded for him around week 4. Held him this long but I offered him several times to people as part of a package deal. No one bit. So better lucky than good sometimes.

I don't think it's ridiculous in the slightest. As a Brady owner, I was more excited for him to get Vereen back than I was Gronk. Vereen really goes a long way in helping Brady sustain drives; having ownership of the safety valve in this offense is huge.

The way NE has played lately (second half team) hasn't hurt either.

if it works Brady is not afraid to lock onto a target (see Wes Welker). Vereen is obviously the security blanket/safety valve/whatever you want to call it but it's :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: .

Whoa whoa whoa... slow down with the crazy talk, now.

;)

Exhibit A as to why drafting is really only a small component of a successful year....in leagues where benches are tight or even normal, this guy was straight out dropped.

This seems to me to be more of a commentary on having short benches than the impact of a draft.

 Same here. It killed me to drop him early but needed the roster spot, then grabbed him a week before he returned. He's giving us some interesting decisions going forward.

I kept offering him in packages to improve my decimated WR corps. Thank goodness nobody took me up.

Someone should have burned you on that drop, but your risky move paid off well. Good work.

Definitely risky in both. But neither league has super deep benches. I had been following news on him as soon as I dropped him to make sure I could snag him back up when the time came.

Since he came back, Vereen is the 4th highest RB in ppg (could be 3rd if Murray has a poor game tonight). This guy is auto-start from here on out.

Like I said, those who have Vereen could be marching to championships because of him. He was playing a big role even with Gronk. Without Gronk, he could become an even bigger part of the offense if yesterday translates to the next couple of weeks.
