Could be a sell high week for Vereen. If he plays well this week, may be a good time to move him.
I disagree. If he is used more, he'll be a good hold. If not, I don't think anyone will be buying him high. IMO it's going to come down to usage more than performance.
Agree, hes been producing with the touches hes getting - he just hasn't been getting ton of looks.
Seemed like all he got last week was 3rd and long run plays to kill the clock and get to the punter. Hope he's used more than that tonight

Week before that he had 90 yards rushing on 10 carries. Hes averaging 5.1 ypc on 42 carries. The targets will come if he stops getting pulled from the gameplan.

He'll have a monster game tonight because I traded him last week and the person who I traded him to, traded him to my opponent this week

I'm scared he won't be used tonight because I don't expect NYJ to put up a fight/NE to be forced to pass. I'm still starting him in PPR however, I don't have much of a choice.

If I didn't have better options I would be very tempted to start both him and Bolden tonight. This game could get out of hand quickly. Vereen has been in my lineup every week, so hopefully my faith will be rewarded.

The game tonight runs the risk of being a monsoon. I suspect we will see a very sloppy game with the chance of limited scoring and a lot of turnovers. I am about 50 miles away from the stadium and right now it is raining so hard I cannot even see across the street. The Pats seem to view Vereen as more of a finesse guy than a pounder, and given his own checkered injury history, I am not sure he will be the one plodding ahead for 3 yards over and over in a giant puddle. Maybe the weather will die down and cooperate, but if they had to play right now it would be a mess.

Giddy up!!!

Starting him with confidence tomorrow. I see a floor of about 13 points.
I see a floor of 2.Belichick keeps a rug under all his players, his hand firmly gripped and ready to pull it out from under them at any moment. He even screws with the IDP side of things constantly.
I pretty much agree. But on a short week and vereen being the most trusted option I bet he has his best game of the season. Which isnt really saying much. Prob around 10 to 15 pts. Moving forward who knows but the matchup tonight doesnt hurt either.
God I could use it. I hope you're right. I tried to trade for any other RB on almost any other team. Owners won't bite, and in a 16 team league with Keepers, it's a bi**h to find a replacement RB.

Woe is us who hold players coached by Belichick.

Amen. If you have any connections with your boy, Bill, remind him that Vareen's looked good when he gets going.

If I had any connection to BB or Mcdaniels I would ask him why they only run that wheel route with Vereen once every 5 games. He turns it on and it goes for at least 20 yards and has gone for much more a couple times.

LOL! If you buy in to Rotoworld like most people do, here is the typical move that I would expect from Belicheck:

"

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots will promote RB Jonas Gray from the practice squad before Thursday's game against the Jets.

The move has been rumored all week. A third-year undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, Gray will be No. 3 in the Patriots' "big back" rotation behind Brandon Bolden and James White, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that he'll get an opportunity to establish the "hot hand." He's worth a flier in 14-team leagues if you're absolutely bereft of options at running back."

No way in hell to know who to start.

I'm benching him for either Davante Adams, Crowell or Ingram in a flex spot. I need to see some usage before I put him in, especially with the weather being what it is tonight.

i traded him for watkins straight up in standard redraft. wanted to sell him while he had some value before he gets 8 carries and 3 targets and its shown nothing has changed. or maybe im wrong and he gets a bunch of workload.

As a Vereen owner isn't this what you've always wanted? Seems strange if you believed in him before that you'd be looking to move him.

Has anyone heard any explanation for why they haven't been using Vereen in the passing game? In the eight games he played in last year, he averaged nearly six receptions a game (and that includes Week 16 where he got hurt on his only catch and left early). Through the first six games this year, he's averaging three.

Probably has more to do with the fact that averaging 6 receptions/game is highly unusual for a RB then anything else. And 3 receptions/game is actually very good production for a RB.

This. There are a lot more reliable targets now. Also, Ridley has seen a ton of snaps.

So your best guess would be Vereen sees the majority of those snaps?

I can't say honestly, I feel like he is their best option but I do believe they will give Vereen, Bolden, White and maybe even Gray opportunities to earn that role to grind out yards.

Either way if Vereen doesn't win out for that job, I do believe his snap count will go up. Now that the illusion of Vereen being on the field before 3rd down guaranteeing a pass play is gone, I think he will be on the field more to create mismatches.

Good enough for me. Thanks for sharing your Pats knowledge. Going big on them tonight. Ne def, vereen, wright. Feel pretty good about it to

This really is not all that complicated. Last year most of the receiving targets were banged up or out. This year everyone has been available and in the lineup, so much so that the Pats have been deactivating WR and RB each week. In 2013, it was edelman and Vereen (when he was available) and not much else. Vereen is seeing fewer targets because there are more people to throw to.

I have the exact same choice. I'm leaning Vereen, but I wish I didn't have to decide today.

I'm starting Vereen over Ingram in two leagues, Vereens burned me several times this year, but Ingram is coming off a broken hand and the stars are pretty much aligning for Vereen.

I'm i the same boat wih Kelvin Benjamin and the next best option is Brandon Lafell off the wire,,,slimmer pickings after that

tonight is the night Vereen owners have been waiting for
It isn't. A banged up Gronk/Edelman boosts Vereen's value. Oddly and sadly, a banged up Ridley does not.

It's akin to the dynamic that we once observed in NO where a banged up Sproles/Bush boosted Moore's value and vice versa.

Rolling with Vereen tonight. Was trying to decide between him and Spiller this week. Still may start Spiller as my flex and put Harvin on the bench.

After typing that sentence, it's pretty clear I have a few guys on my roster that aren't performing up to par.

He'll have a monster game tonight because I traded him last week and the person who I traded him to, traded him to my opponent this week
it never fails
Dude don't feel bad. I traded Brady and gronk for cutler after week 4. Brady led me to a 1-4 record. He was beyond putrid and killing my fantasy hopes.

Literally the minute after I traded him he exposed on cincy...one of the best defenses in the league...he hasn't slowed down since.

So yeah I feel you.
