Not getting an interview?Shannon Sharpe has 3 Super Bowl rings on teams not convicted of cheating and was a 4-time All Pro. He has nothing to cry about. All these tears.
This is so true I laughed out loud. Must be a generational thing.BB sounds like a deadpan Tim Conway.
Agreed.I love his obvious disgust for the media pot stirrers.I'm probably in the minority, but I like the fact that he doesn't like the media or play the BS game. Frankly, it's refreshing.I just don't get it. Are people just realizing what this guy is like? He pretty much despises the media. He despises them almost the same amount when he wins than when he loses. This has been going on for over a decade. He gives a weekly interview on WEEI, these guys are basically professional Patriot ball washers. They rarely ask him anything close to a difficult question - he still gives them crap for the most part. He's a little more affable, he is actually pretty funny sometimes, but when it comes to the game it's "play better, coach better" and "we didn't do enough on offense, defense, or special teams" over and over. They asked him about Talib going out, if that had a big impact on the game, and his answer was something like "whenever you lose a player, you have to adjust. Injuries happen in the National Football League."It's probably just time to get over it. Poke at him all you want when he loses, God knows he's got it coming to him, but acting surprised that he's not giving an interview is a little weird.
yeah, that wasThis is so true I laughed out loud. Must be a generational thing.BB sounds like a deadpan Tim Conway.
Sharpe wasn't overly classy in handling the situation either. Bill is a sore loser. He should probably do the interview but does anyone know if he is actually contractually obligated to interview with CBS?I'm 100% positive this has already been talked about, but I don't want to have to try and dig it up, so I'll ask here. Did you see where Sharpe said, and I paraphrase, "That's why you root against the Patriots, because of Bill Belichick". Basically saying he should have come out for the losing coach interview, but chose not to because he lost and took his ball and went home.
No, he is not contractually obligated. He is obligated to address the media after the game, which he did.Of course, it is my understanding that Jim Harbaugh also did not give an on-field, post-game interview with the network that carried the NFC game, but no one seems to be talking about that. In fact, John Harbaugh went out of his way to point out how gracious and respectful Belichick was to him with his words after the game, but that of course also gets ignored.Belichick does not take losing well (this is not breaking news), but unless you have some vested interest in the network, it's a little funny to pretend to be offended that the network missed out on an exclusive interview that would have provided literally zero insight.'DropKick said:Sharpe wasn't overly classy in handling the situation either. Only to Patriot fans. The rest of the country loves that someone in the national media called that tool out for what he is.'trader jake said:Shannon just comes across as a Raven homer with his blast.
I habe never seen a problem with his interviews because they are very, cut-to-the-chase TRUTH. Yeah, he's not colorful, but he's correct. When the Offense plays sloppy, he says that. When they turn the ball over too much, he says that. Seems like he criticized for not being a stand up comedian. At the end of the day, we will remember some coaches more for their press conferences (Green, Mora, etc). We will remember Belichick more for his coaching. There is nothing wrong with that.I just don't get it. Are people just realizing what this guy is like? He pretty much despises the media. I agree with this 100%. I believe the post game interview after the coach has had some time to digest what just happened to him would suffice.I'm anything but a BB fan or Pats fan, but its totally BS to run up to these guys and bust their balls immediately after a game.
that is ####### outrageous.I just peed myself reading it.No, he is not contractually obligated.
