100% this. Honestly that 7th round run of Egbuka, Pearsall, Shakir, Aaron Jones, Kaleb Johnson, Tyrone Tracey, and Jauan Jennings that wiped out 3/4 of my queue still has me shook. Drafting with FBG I knew I wouldn't have my pick of the litter and more than likely just be taking what was left over. But some of those guys are ADP +2 rounds in my other drafts this summer haha, didn't think I wouldn't get any of them at that turn.

I do feel like this will help with my remaining drafts though. I typically lean towards value, but I think I need to balance a bit more towards landing "my guys" even more so. Even the casual redrafts in the FFA are this way. It's an experience. There's really no advantage nor stone unturned. When you're here every day and following the news it just lends itself to this.

In a league like this one, feels like everyone is taking their guys and not following ADP. It certainly makes it more challenging but it's also a lot of fun. I've gotten caught in two big runs in this league too and am realizing I don't love picking near the end and would much prefer the middle.

In fact that one started off like that with JJettas falling to me at 1.12. Happy problems to have I guess haha.

I was trying to make a build that was both younger with potential, but some older stalwarts. Both of those types typically get "bad grades" overall but are usually the guys that surprise more often on the + side.

QB's:
Dak - target as soon as I took CeeDee, and with all of the high picks around him, can be a Burrow type season with yards/TD's.
Bryce - came on late last year. Had 5 rushing TD's in his last few games. Young stud and TALL (important feature for the little guy) new toy. I think the oversell is over on him.
RB's:
Chase - I have him finishing top 5 potentially. Should have taken his back-up sooner before Barackdhouse, who I realized too late was on the Brooks thread pumping his tires earlier on. Thought he might slip one more round, but alas no.
Conner - the Benson hype is a bit overblown I think. Conner is still the better player and very capable. Solid vet, but wanted K9 who got taken the pick before.
Swift - a piece of the Bears, all I wanted. Henderson sniped pick before. So not a reach, not a must have either. Hope for the best, but took the Rutgers rookie just in case who according to Bear beat writers is impressing Ben and showing that he can be the bell cow if needed - or at least the Montgomery in the offense.
Allgeirer/Hill/Ford/Monangai - lotto tix mixed with flex appeal.
WR's:
Lamb - like him a lot this year. Has the stars aligning for monster season
JSN - underrated this year IMO. 3rd year, clear #1 with Darnold and Kubiak. I can see 1300 and 10 TD's.
Egbuka - a "must have" that I actually landed! The Bucs piece I was targeting. Godwin might not be right at all this year. This kid is going to take on a lot of targets.
Higgins/Kyle Williams/DHop my old man/youth bench. 1 of these 3 is going to emerge as a flex option....maybe 2, would be delighted for all of them. Hopkins intrigues for how he can compliment what Larmar does with his arm. Given the amount of red-zone drops, could emerge as a high TD low yards guy.
TE's:
TJ Hockenson - never hurts to have a pro-bowl TE as a rookie QB security blanket
Tyler Warren - took me the longest to choose this pick in the 9th. Downs/Pittman still on the board, also Coleman. I just had a feeling that Warren could be special, not Bowers per se, but always on the field and getting more targets than either Downs/Pittman. Will see if this works out. Definitely my 3rd flex to begin the year.

Last but not least, Seahawks D. Bit of a homer pick, but with a few D's already off the board the "consensus" rankings looked more like last years bets. I will likely have some drops and pick ups as the season moves along, but this group will show up hard and coach Mike has the chops to make them a top 5.

Overall, give myself a C+ on paper but more B for potential.

I intentionally did not look at ADP once during this draft and drafted off my own rankings, vibes, and biases. Overall, I like my team considering how good the competition is but a few things I wish I could redo.

Round 4 I took Harrison Jr and should have taken Ken Walker or T. Henderson for a RB2. Was thrilled to get Tee Higgins at 3.10 as I see him being a 2/3 turn player.

I do believe Mahomes and KC will open things up more this year and that's probably the deciding factor of how good my team will be. I have Maye as my backup, who I really like, and could have gotten another QB I liked later in the draft. Reminder when the home league drafts come take the elite guys early or wait wait wait and wait some more.

The two big snipes that hurt were Razorback taking Tyrone Tracy in front of me and then stealing Tucker Kraft two picks before I "settled" for Colston Loveland. Pink sniped me in Round 18 with team defenses too lol.

I use a lot of material. I definitely look at Bob Henry's projections, with a glance now and then at FBG Consensus ADP. I also attempt to fit some players that I have ranked closely to how they match already rostered bye weeks.

My plan was to focus more on WR, with the expectation of filling flex scores there, but as it turned out I drafted three TEs that I expect will compete for flex as well.
With the 6-point passing TDs and especially paired with 0.05 pts/yd, I went in with a plan to monitor the speed that QBs went off the board, planning to look long at Mayfield, Goff, or Stafford late. As it turned out, our league was among the slowest to take the first QBs and I was beginning to reverse field when Jackson and Allen were taken just ahead of my 3rd pick, so I began to consider Burrow. I abandoned that out of necessity as Daniels, Hurts and Burrow all went in round 4. Then the wait was on. Truly grateful that many of us had similar plans because only Mahomes went in the next few rounds and I was able to get Mayfield in the 8th round. Love his targets and hoping his efficiency continues from last year. Considered several, but very late decided to shoot for the moon with Richardson.

QB - Mayfield & Richardson

RB - James Cook in the 3rd round seemed like a good choice to me at RB14. Close to where I expected him to go, so not really a value with his continuing hold in. Waited a while for my 2nd and it was difficult as they were flying off the board early. Montgomery in Detroit has been golden for TDs and they trust him, even as they have the uber-efficient top guy in Gibbs. Monty went at RB24. I was looking at Tracy from the jump and it seemed like the right time to get him in the next round as my third RB. He should be the top guy in New York, but not expecting much fire power from that offense. Added half=blind Najeh Harris with pick 137. Harbaugh really likes to run the ball and I could see Najeh with a 40 to 45% share. Tucker and K Mitchell added late. They both are nice players, but down in the snap counts but on good offenses.

WR - Went heavy here from the jump, but then so did several others. Happy with top three of Nabers, AJ Brown & Adams. Expecting them to score most weeks for me. DJ Moore is effective in a lot of ways and I am hoping that he has one of his best seasons. May have jumped the gun on Kirk, but I have enjoyed watching him play ever since I went to Dallas to watch the first SW Shoot-Out between Arkansas and Texas A&M. Kirk ran wild on my Hogs that day. I am hopeful that Hollywood Brown returns to form, particularly when Rice is out for a few or several weeks

TE - Unexpectedly, managed to get three guys that I like a lot. I suspect that Kraft could lead the Packers in receptions. Was considering a Razorback Hunter Henry, but got sniped and was still glad to get Ertz. I actually considered Freiermuth there and was shocked to get him very late.

DST - I like the Broncos defense and they have a nice soft schedule early, so I was not afraid to jump in early there.

Draft Dominator has me middle of the pack at 6th, but only two points behind @BlackCrowes who is fifth. When only considering starters, my squad moves up to 5th and within 7 points of @Scoresman at 4th.

Looking forward to competing against all y'all this season and it will be a challenge, both because I see each of you as fine drafters and because I will be traveling a lot during the season. I might actually still be awake for some of those 2am waivers.

I remain confused about the waivers, but hopefully will not need them much as my superior squad outperforms production expectations.

Got Murray at 13.4 when QB started to thin out and Stroud at 16.9 was just too good to pass up.

RB- Saquan Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Alvin Kamara, Kennith Walker, Aaron Jones, Will Shipley
took Barkley at 1.4 over Gibbs
took Jacobs at 2.9 over Chase Brown and Bucky Irving
took Kamara at 3.4 hoping for one more good year after all my round 3 targets were gone.
was happy to get Kenneth Walker at 4.9
my round 5 targets were gone by 5.4 ; Conner& Hubbard
took Jones at 7.4 over Kaleb Johnson after a WR run
got Shipley at 17.4 as handcuff

got Sutton at 5.4 after missing my 5th RB and started a long WR run

round 9 was my target for TE was hoping for Warren and missed by one pick

looked at Smith for 2 rounds before I took him at 14.9
took Likely as last pick as insurance for Andrews and was shocked he was still there

Def - Pittsburgh Steelers 15.4 as the 4th Def off the board

Overall Happy with my strength at RB and QB. Hopefully I will only have to start 2 or 3 WR each week.. If all three QBs hit I could have trade bait. Cannot believe I drafted 2 saints

Yeah this is definitely "not" a home league. My home leagues will still have guys like Mahomes going in the 2nd round or people not knowing Joe Mixon is injured, etc. This looked more like one of those experts drafts.

Wondering how many used draft dominator? I used my own projections/rankings so I doubt a FBG Rate my Team feature will rate me highly.

I semi-like my team. I know I wanted to get out of round 4 with 2 RBs. I was open to going Elite QB and TE, but when Bucky was still there in round two I punted QB. Other than that I prioritized youth over aging veterans wherever I could.

this draft was way different than the Home League where I also had pick #4.Both drafts started at the same time and the Home league is still in the 14th round. RBs went even earlier there, letting the QBs and TEs fall. I only drafted RBs in first two rounds and had to pivot. I got McBride at 3.4 and then WRs Evans at 4.9 and Moore at 5.4. In the Home league my draft looks better when compared to ADP.
My draft was the opposite of yours. Other than Nix, my roster is quite old.

small satisfaction I got Warren right before you wanted him....ala Walker for me....that was one of 3-4 nut punches.

When you took Nix, I had to move off Engram as my TE2 to make sure I didn't miss Dak. When Engram went off 3 picks later, I had to sit on the clock for a while debating Warren....

I also did not use DD and I actually never do. I guess I'm kind of hesitent to rely on technology too much when drafting, I'm afraid something will go wrong and honestly I'm just not very comfortable with it - I read a lot of projections, player profiles and training camp updates and formulate my own rankings based on this. What I learn right here in the shark pool is absolutely critical to any success I've had over the years. When drafting, I use pen and paper to list players I'm targeting with my next pick in each round. I'm not recommending such a stone age approach per se but in order to maximize positive outcomes, I think it's important to be comfortable with your tools, to stay relaxed in your comfort zone and (most importantly) to have fun, so that's how I approach it and it works for me.

It's early but I feel like this is one of the worst teams I've drafted in recent history and that's a reflection of the shark pool-level competition I think. Sleepers I thought would be waiting for me in certain rounds were consistently snatched up before my turn came up again. My other leagues are just easier. Kudos fellas - I imagine that in-season waivers will be a similarly competitive exercise. Should be interesting - best of luck everyone!

And when I say that I use it, I primarily use it to track players gone and roster composition for my team and others. I suspect that y'all kind of use that aspect since sleeper provides the screen view of the draft history as you go.

DD Classic just has so much data available for comparison, even when you use your own rankings and or projections, you still make your own decisions. I think especially in a slower draft, like this one it adds a lot.

I've used draft tools from other sites, and I've attempted the DD here before. I'm sure its me, but when I set the DD for a mock draft in my home league on Sleeper it took Trevor Lawrence 1st overall, so at that point I just took it off.

This is the game with those. If you read Bloom, Waldman, or other experts that bring nuance then I see a lot of their "value" or must have guys on my team. The DD gives you the industry consensus and we've been in this long enough.

The QB rankings felt a little harsh for Dak and Hurts tho yikes....and my TE's of Hock and Warren are a weak point, got an F.....ya ok.

Unfortunately, Pink Stapler and Largent are swimming in choppy waters with C+ grades and projected points barely over 200. Their reliance on QBs like Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott hasn’t translated into strong overall scoring

Man, I was all over the DD classic back in the day. I used to modify the heck out of it, input my own projections, historic drafting trends of league mates etc. I love it's utility for predicting runs and getting ahead of them. It's a great.

About five years ago I decided that I pay for FGBs service and they pay people to do projections and all that. I figures the ROI on the time I spent doing all that myself was, at best a push and very likely negative.

So I used the new DD for the first time, did some minor tweaks and had the best pre-draft and draft day experience I've had in years. I haven't looked back.

So much less effort and stress and the results have been top notch (six playoffs, including League Uno last year, and two championships).

I don't follow the recommendations explicitly, and I never pay attention to ADP (people often misunderstand what an average is). I also always use tidbits of info I pick up in here to move on different guys a little earlier.

But the overall experience and results have been amazing. I highly recommend making the shift.

Then I guess I disagree with the "experts" who apparently are sleeping on Tyler Warren - he's one of the TEs I've been targeting in the middle-to-late rounds but missed out on this time thanks to you lol - however good or bad that Indy offense is going to be, I think it'll flow through Warren. Unique skill set, loves football, top 5 TE this year, calling my shot.
