I have a year long family pick em pool (no spread. Just pick winners. Split pots common). It’s probably in its 40th year or so. I started it as a teen with my siblings, parents, aunts and uncles and even my grandmother and great uncle. Only $2 per week buy in and we have a season long % pool for best overall picks over the whole season.

my grandmother and great uncle are long gone but my brother has roped in a few friends/neighbors and it’s 14 of us now.

Either way…I’ve won or split 10 out of the 17 weeks so far (some years, your instincts on which teams will win or lose is just in sync with reality. That’s me this year. Not me most years).

I’m only 1 game ahead of the % pool so this weekend really matters (hence my “which teams will sit starters” thread in the shark pool).

Our family pool also has a $5/each playoff pool were we just try to pick the winners for all playoff games thru the Super Bowl. Often a split winner as well.

All great fun and an amazing tradition in my family.

Mine is only $10 week. Weekly winners are paid out for 1-3. With the top 5 over all getting the rest. 1st is a couple grand with 100 people. It’s a ton of fun. I’ve been in it for 12 years. Won a few weeks over the years but have never finished this high. I have 151 correct picks so far. 1st place currently has 159

What's up everyone hope you all are well!

We are getting close to fully launching FBG Home Leagues for 2025, and I wanted to get all your opinions on the upcoming season of the FBG Shark Pool Home Leagues.

With our regular FBG Home Leagues, we will be drafting as they fill, even if they fill before the NFL Draft. We don't know how many will go before then, but we will at least give people the option.

Please reply to this with your thoughts on drafting as soon as the league fills. My assumption is that most people will not want to in here, so then my plan would be to fill Shark Pool Home Leagues starting in the near future, but start all Shark Pool slow-drafts on Monday August 19th.

I know there were a few that wanted a promotion/relegation style setup, and we might still be able to do that, but we need to see how many leagues we have. Another potential idea if we get to 12 leagues is a "Champions League" where we invite each winner to a single league in the following year, or a Champions + Runner Up, or a Champions + Runner Up + 3rd Place. A lot of ideas that our team will discuss, but we need to make sure we can fill more than one league here before deciding anything.

And agree that I wouldn’t want to leave this league to join a champions league. I want to stay in Uno with my other SharkPool brethren.

yeah. For all my redraft leagues, we draft late August, or very early Sept. but those are all live drafts.
My 6 round rookie dynasty slow drafts basically take a week, so this had to be at least twice that long if not more, so a mid-august start sounds good to me.

I'd be cool with an even shorter timer during the day and a long one overnight. We have access to the watchlist function where we can set up our autodraft priority if/when timed out.

Yep. Last year's draft went very well. No complaints here. I liked that it turned off at 10pm I think then started in morning. I just know I want in again...
