I will tell ha I've never been a fan of back to back picks, but this year it was kinda nice. Prolly cause I'm awesome!!!
It's not near as fun on the back end. But being next to @joey was the worst part, just keeping me stuck in my little corner while he sniped me 🤣
I've seen enough of joey that's for sure. I'm projected to beat him week 1. Seems about right. Ha ha

Um…congrats in advance for beating me right out of the gate.

CeeDee @ PHI

Dammit. And so it begins.....

Only piece of reading material I even look at is Fantasypros. Outside of my declining brain, that's all I look at. I've been doing this since 1992. Long time. I do me. Statistically speaking I trade more then just about any owner I've played with. I led our league last year in trades. I just enjoy it. I go into each draft with a reckless arrogance. I picked 1st.

QB. Mahomes and Fields. Feel good about those two with this scoring. I'm not a Chiefs fan, but i really enjoy watching Mahomes. Almost went Nix instead. I think Chiefs open it up a bit. Fields has the ability to be a top 5 fantasy QB. Will Glen take the training wheels off and let him play? Maybe.

WRS. Ja'marr Chase. AJ Brown. Ladd Mcconkey. Christian Kirk. Hollywood Brown. Amari Cooper. This is about as good of WR group as you can get in a 12 man league. My strength. My pride. My top 3 are all gonna be in the top 12 at the end of the year. My happiest WR pick was Kirk. I just feel he is the perfect compliment to Nico and gonna be Strouds guy. He is my flag plant. Watch. Amari was a low investment. My gut says I end up getting two bye week starts out of him.

RBS. When you go WR early the RB position is gonna suffer. Treveyon Henderson. D'andre Swift. Javante Williams. Austin Ekeler. Roschon Johnson. I only need to start 2 each week. I will be able to. I really need Henderson to hit. I think he is gonna be a top 10 ppr RB. His floor is 60 receptions. Just a big yardage chunk guy. Double digit TDS. Swift has the tools. Has limited competition. Has an amazing coach. I feel okay about him. I've loved Javante since forever. He struggled bad last year. Surprisenly enough he still had 52 receptions. Can he be the Cowboys goal line hammer and catch another 52? Yep. I got questions here for sure, but hopeful.

TES. Evan Engran. David Njoku. I'm set. I went in knowing I was gonna reach on Engram. The stars have aligned for him this year. Barring injury I see 90 receptions in that offense. A monster year coming before he fades. Njoku is just one of those polarizing humans. Flacco gonna make him money.

DEFENSE. Last year in this league I streamed the position and it got old. I ranked the five best defenses. Literally went through each schedule and gave a point for a good matchup and minus point for a bad matchup. I had the Steelers as my #1 ranked defense. Is the 13th round early? Maybe. I don't care.

Super tough and competitive league again. I'm a playoff team. Ill talk a lot of the trash and make a lot of trades. I already have 3 offers out. Will I beat Joey to claim the title this year? You damn right I will.

Onward Soldiers...

You're still working on your draft post mortem? I've already set my starting lineup through October.

My draft post Mortem (at the risk of being abused by @Chaka for not setting my lineup thru Thanksgiving…)

QB: Mayfield, Penix: it’s Mayfield or bust with Penix upside insurance. Grabbed mayfield in the 7th which felt like the sweet spot for the last “top 6-ish” QB.

RB: Jeanty, Kamara, AJones, Stevenson, Blue, Tahj Brooks, Hunt. Some young. Some old. In a league where you can star more than 2 RBs, I like to lean in on drafting 3 starters in the top 6 rounds since a) I can start them all and b) I have better RB Injury Insurance. Liked Stevenson in the 9th. Angry at all the mocks that had Henry drop to me half the time at 1.11. Stupid mocks.

WR: Nacua, GWilson, Diggs, Downs, Tre Tucker, Thielen. Loved Puka at 2.2 and fine with Wilson at 4.2. Fine with my depth and, in ppr, I feel like I’ll be rotating my bottom 2 or 3 WRs all season from the waiver wire.

TE: LaPorta, Jake Ferguson. Very solid tandem imho. In retrospect, I’d rather have grabbed Andrews or Hockenson 2 rounds later, but hopefully LaPorta lives up to his FBG TE4 ranking.

D: Ravens. was targeting the Broncos and their week 14 set-it-and-forget-it-most-of-the-season bye week, but they went way before I was ready to take a Defense. Hopefully the Ravens are their usual set-and-forget selves for this season with only a bye week fill in needed.

(That was 2 more sentences than anyone needed about a defense ;) )

My prediction: middling team that needs things to break my way to make the playoffs. Didn’t love drafting from the 11th slot. My only joy was sniping @Houston turmOiler on the amazingly mediocre options we both faced at the turn every other round. ;)

Great draft all. Crazy week for me with some medical stuff, so this draft actually helped with my sanity. I know that I certainly made some mistakes and have some regrets (I ended up diverting away from my initial strategy)—but I think I have a workable roster. With some luck, with some good in-season roster management, and with some transactions (with free agency and and some potential trading)—I think I can at least stay competitive. My luck may not be good to start though—I saw that I was expected to high the second highest score in week 1—and who am I playing—the team that is expected to get the highest score. lol. I wish I was a member of those apps where you can plug in league rosters and they make predictions for each team.

I hope your doing okay, chum. All my best.

IDK. I really like your team. You have strength at every position. I like your top 3 WR, top 3 RB, both QBs, your starting TE and both defenses. You have at least three options for your last flex spot too.

On the surface it looks like you have a strong team.

It will be interesting when we play... It'll be my team vs. the team I was going to have. We'll see if you did me any favors and saved me from myself.

You're right though... really felt like we were fighting an uphill battle at the end of every run. Wanted a stud QB at 3/4, but my pick was too late. Totally punted TE, but it really doesn't bother me. Got a strong WR corps and 2 good QBs I can alternate. Passed on Puka at the first turn because I didn't feel like he had the TD potential of Nico and BTJ, and I liked Adams better at the 3/4 turn if he made it. Was also hoping Derrick Henry made it to the turn, but would have taken Jeanty with Nico if he'd have made it. Would have preferred an earlier pick where I could've snagged Bucky Irving or Chase Brown in the second.

Time will tell if I can do enough to make Al (all of you) remember just who the hell is this Gary character.

My team prolly isn't the best, and may not be very good at all, but at least it's filled up and down with my guys instead of your guys that fell to my slots. No Mike Pittsmans this year was my motto and I have none. Closest thing was Deebo, but I still have luv for that dude even after he kicked my team in the ***** last season. He owes me! Game on, marthafockers.

I'll do a draft writeup post weekend when I'm not constantly on the golf course or with my kids or both. Short version is I tried really hard to let the draft come to me and just roll with value. I think it left me with an interesting team.

Pretty weak at RB after my top two. Pretty stacked at WR. Like my TEs, especially for value. Would have taken McBride at 2.11 had he fallen.

Chaka's League Uno Draft Post Mortem:

CeeDee - No brainer. My number one overall player and someone I did not expect to fall to four. No shade, that's just how I saw it. I was upset the draft did not start with CeeDee, Chase & Bijan going 1, 2, 3 because, hand to God, I would have taken Jeanty. And my team name was going to be The Jeantynauts complete with a logo of The Juggernaut in a #2 Raiders uni.

J.Taylor - Not thrilling but I did view him as the BPA and I didn't think he, or Kyren would come back to me.

Kyren - With Allen and Lamar off the board this was pretty much a no brainer to me. He's not flashy but he's a 300+ touch RBs with 15 TD upside. Smash pick.

Chuba - My first gut check. I thought I was going to go WR here but I saw the next few as interchangeable (DJ, Sutton & McLaurin) and I was gambling that Jameson would make it back to me.

Jamo - CHA CHING!!! Couldn't be happier...#### was he just suspended again???

Jeudy - I spent a lot of time looking at his stats with various QBs last year and, with Jameis gone, Jeudy's downside is ugly. But, I do think he was BPA at this point.

T.Tracy - This was a real pivot point and it changed my entire draft. I was strongly leaning towards Nix, and I may live to regret not drafting him. But, I read enough news in the Tracy & Skataboo threads to convince me that Tracy's hold on the job is secure, he will have a lot of runway and should see 250+ touches. In the moment that felt like more value than going QB.

Olave - @DA RAIDERS , sniped me on Mark Andrews, which had reverberating impact on the rest of my draft. And seeing Travis Etienne fall here made me really question my gamble on Tracy. So, Olave is, technically, the BPA by a good margin at this point. Hate his team, hate his QBs, hate his injury history but, I didn't see another player with a higher ceiling at this point.

Kyle Pitts - Seeing only two TEs come off the board between this and my next pick hurt. Apparently Pitts's star has fallen far enough that he may have made it back to me. I gambled that Dak or Goff would make it back to me instead. I didn't expect @Houston turmOiler to take a second QB this early. That being said, I needed a TE and there were a bunch of 50-ish catch, 550 yard-ish guys on the board. Pitts is also one of those guys and I still, possibly foolishly, view his ceiling as the highest among them.

Caleb & JJ - In retrospect, I should have take JJ McCarthy here because I would have been more disappointed to lose out on him than Caleb. But I got both and I'm reasonably okay with that. But, on paper I have the worst QB room in League Uno. I honestly believe any QB in O'Connell's system will throw for 4,000+ yards and 30 TDs so JJ is safe floor option, IMO, with great upside. Caleb is a huge gamble, I have questioned his mental toughness multiple times but, his physical tools are upper tier, he has great skill position players around him and I love Ben Johnson as his coach (another question mark). I expect a slow start out of the gate and for things to turn around in a big way around week six.

Corum - Seems like a good upside insurance policy for Kyren.

Bateman - After @DA RAIDERS sniped QJ the round before (I still would have taken Corum and I bet QJ would make it back to me here). I strongly considered hedging my QB bet again with Jordan Love here but that would have been foolish, IMO. I think taking Bateman was the right move. He isn't a high volume guy, has a lot of trouble staying on the field and is a better fantasy bet in Best Ball formats but, he's a big play guy with a great deep ball QB who isn't afraid to put up 50/50 balls to him.

Rico - I'm pretty confident he is the right insurance policy for Chuba.

D.Thornton - Another misplayed gamble. I was hoping the Texans Defense would make it back to me. That was foolish and I should have seen how unlikely that possibility was. But if you do a real deep level analysis of this pick...GO RAIDERS!!!

Richardson - Gotta admit, I was just shocked he fell this far. Has he fallen so far that he would he have gone undrafted? This guy was a consensus top 5 fantasy QB last year and there may not be a player in the league with more upside. Dude just can't stay on the field... or throw the ball... Whatever, 16th round pick.

Mayer - He'll probably be a roster churn casualty at some point. But 1) GO RAIDERS!!! and 2) I really love all the reports I have seen about him this off season. He's a really talented guy and is apparently locked in. I could see one of those weird low volume/high TD seasons
like 37 receptions and 9 TDs.

GO RAIDERS!!! After I missed out on the Texans I knew I would be streaming D's. I like the Raiders week one matchup so... y'know.

Thank you for doing this GB. I have to say that their rating seems to be in line with my thoughts on my team—I thought maybe just below “middle of the pack”—and thats where they have me. I’m not sure if “safe and sound” is how I’d describe my team—I’d say “workable”. lol

Here is the rest of the write up:

Shark Pool #1 FBG Home League:

Welcome to the post-draft report for the Shark Pool #1 FBG Home League, a competitive 12-team full PPR redraft league where every point counts and return yards add a little extra spice. This analysis dives into how each team fared in their draft, spotlighting the strengths, weaknesses, and overall grades for the 2024 season. With no superflex to boost quarterback value, the focus is on balanced rosters and savvy picks to maximize scoring potential.

The top dogs like Chaos34 and FBG Chaka flex strong A- and B+ grades with high projected points, showing they nailed their draft strategy. Meanwhile, teams like Ben & Jerry's and Above ADP are sitting with C+ grades, signaling some rough patches ahead. We’ll break down who’s poised to dominate, who’s flying under the radar, and who might need to hustle on the waiver wire to stay competitive. Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of this year’s draft results and what they mean for your fantasy playoff.

🏆 Top Contenders: High Grades and High Hopes

Leading the pack, Chaos34 boasts the highest projected points (249) with an A- grade, thanks to a stellar QB trio featuring Justin Herbert and Kyler Murray. Close behind, FBG Chaka impresses with a B+ grade and a deep QB stable including Caleb Williams and Anthony Richardson Sr., perfect for this full PPR league. Jvdesigns2002 and Instinctive also show strong B grades and solid projected points, anchored by elite QBs Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen respectively. These teams have the firepower and depth to make a serious playoff push, especially if they leverage Footballguys’ Weekly Rankings and Waiver Wire Reports to stay sharp.

🔥 Mid-Tier Mix: Balanced but Room to Grow

Teams like Atomic Punk, Joey, and Willy T Flyers sit comfortably in the B to A- range with projected points in the 220s. They’ve drafted well-rounded squads with a mix of veteran and rookie talent, such as Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, and Justin Jefferson. These squads have upside but might need to watch for injury risks or inconsistent veterans. Their playoff chances hinge on consistent weekly production and smart in-season management.

⚠️ Struggling Squads: Draft Woes and Tough Roads Ahead

On the lower end, Ben & Jerry's and Above ADP carry C+ grades with projected points barely over 200. Their reliance on rookie QBs like Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow paired with aging veterans like Derrick Henry and Geno Smith could be a recipe for inconsistency. Gary and FarFromHome Soldiers also face challenges with B- grades and middling projections, needing breakout performances from their QBs and WRs to stay relevant. Sorry, but yikes — these teams will need to hustle hard on the waiver wire to avoid an early exit.

🎯 Strategy Spotlight: Rookie Revolution vs. ADP Autopilot

The league shows two distinct drafting philosophies. The "Rookie Revolution" squads (Ben & Jerry's, Gary) bank on unproven talent with hopes of breakout seasons, while the "ADP Autopilot" teams (Atomic Punk, Chaos34) stick closer to consensus rankings, aiming for steady production. The former approach is riskier but could pay off big if rookies like Bijan Robinson or Caleb Williams explode. The latter is safer but might lack the high ceiling needed to win it all. Whichever path you’re on, using Footballguys’ tools will be key to navigating the season’s twists and turns.

The Rate My Team has some funny features. You can simply choose to rate your team or you can choose to roast your team or praise your team.

I gotta admit the roast my team feature had some good moments. Here's the take on my TE situation, there are two great lines in there:

🧀 TE Disaster: The Cheese Stands Alone

Kyle Pitts is your starter, which means you’re either a true believer or you just love pain. Your backup is Michael Mayer, who’s about as inspiring as a preseason snap count. This is the kind of tight end room that makes you wish you could start a kicker at TE. If you want to avoid weekly TE goose eggs, you’ll need to stream like your season depends on it—because it does. The only thing worse than your TE situation is the fact that you actually drafted it this way on purpose.
