EG72's Full Writeup:
Marquise Goodwin, WR, Texas.

Wallace is gone. Antonio Brown is taking the #1 SE role, and Emmanuel Sanders/Jerricho Cotchery are ideal possession guys. What the Steelers lack, and were hoping Chris Rainey could be, is a slot guy they can put in motion, get the ball to in space, use on bubble screens and end arounds, and a kick returner, similar to how Haley used McCluster in K.C. There's no better guy in this draft to fill this role than Goodwin. Fastest player in the draft, can get behind the safeties with 4.27 speed, plays well in space, is a willing (if tiny) blocker, is not afraid to go over the middle for the ball, and showed tremendous improvement in hands and route running at the Senior Bowl. Could be another 3rd round burner who gets overlooked by the rest of the league and opens up the offense for Pittsburgh.

Very interesting selection. They definitely need to look at skill here. Either RB/WR/TE

Giants select Jamie Collins, lb, southern miss. Giants loading up on defensive value this draft. Collins put up great combine numbers and had the lowest (i believe) missed tackle percentage in the country

With the 82nd pick , the Miami Dolphins select Da'Rick Rogers WR, Tennessee Tech. Rogers comes with baggage but we felt it was worth the risk at this point. Hopefully, one of Woods or Rogers will develop into that stud WR we desperately need.

Rats!I was hoping he'd fall to the fourth round.

Great pick, but not sure he's the best fit for the G-Men's defense but Jamie is a true athletic 'freak', (superb cmobine numbers on that sticks out is he broad jumped nearly a foot longer than any other LB prospect) undersized for a 4-3 DE but projects as a 3-4 pass rushing OLB.

I'll only post the players picked and the remainder of the third round so anyone looking in can easily see where we're at (they can peek up a few spots to see the other picks made)

Grrrr. He wasn't getting past the Seahawks here. In the "real draft" I actually think he makes it to us though.

Marcus Lattimore. It would so totally fit Dallas' profile. A top 10 talent that drops due to injury? Something nice and shinny for Jerry to market? Would Jerry really have 3 straight meat and potatoes draft picks in a row? If SOLB were a more important position in the Tampa 2, I would agree with the Gooden pick. But given the depth of issues at play here, I would think Lattimore is the more likely pick for Dallas.

I'm going to be out for the night and not have a computer available to me until tomorrow afternoon. If/when the Seattle pick comes up please pick for me an WLB or DE.Some prospects I was looking at:

John SimonCorey LemonierBoth of these guys are Seattle style picks with a high motor and a little raw but with good instincts.

I'm living in a fantasy world where I make the picks. I'm sure Dallas won't draft anyone as good as any of they 3 guys who have been drafted here.

If the actual draft shapes up similar to this, there are going to be quite a few good QB prospects available in the 4th.

3.88 Green Bay selects: Johnathan Franklin, RB UCLA
I would have went with Brain Schwenke.
I'd like to hear more of the reasoning for the Jonathan Franklin selection simply because I don't know much about him so hopefully we'll get a write-up on that pick.Weekend update for the draft picks made since our last update:

90. Denver - Phillip Thomas, S, Fresno State

Should be able to come in and immediately compete for a starting position at either FS or SS. Mike Adams is nothing special, and Rahim Moore may not be welcomed back in Denver....ever.

There were no elite DTs available, and there are still plenty of good beef guys for later rounds.

BTW, this was a steal.

I hate this draft for the Eagles. OL isn't such a big need that their top 2 picks should be OL. I don't mind Fisher or Joekel with the first pick so Herremans can move back to guard, but after that they really need to focus on defense.

3.92 - Atlanta - Travis Kelce, TE - Cincinnati
OverviewIn high school, Kelce was a three sport star, but his best sport was always football. He was a three-year letter winner at quarterback, and earned All-Lake Erie League honors after totaling 2,539 yards of total offense and 31 total touchdowns as a senior. Kelce’s uncle Don Blalock played football at Purdue and grandfather Don Blalock played football at Ohio. Travis is the younger brother of former Cincinnati Bearcats and current Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. In his first year on campus, Travis redshirted. In his redshirt freshman year, Kelce participated in 11 games as the tight end. He caught one pass for three yards. Kelce also played some quarterback, strictly in a Wildcat role. He logged eight carries for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Kelce did not play in 2010, as he was suspended for a violation of team rules. Upon his return in 2011, Kelce caught 13 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. In his senior season, Kelce put himself on the NFL prospect map, as he caught 45 passes for 722 yards and eight touchdowns. He was selected to the All-Big East first team for his play.AnalysisStrengths Kelce has an ideal tight end frame. Athletic for his size, with great strength, and the ability to stretch the field vertically. Very physical run blocker, generates power from the lower half, and will move defenders off the ball. Plays with leverage. Wide catching radius, can adjust and make the difficult catch. Tough to bring down after the catch. Light feet, and has lined up in numerous different positions. Weaknesses Suspended for an entire season for violating team rules. Only one season of production. Doesn't have blazing speed. Not a tremendously explosive athlete. Doesn't come out of his breaks all that well. NFL Comparison Rob Gronkowski Bottom Line Kelce has been a tremendous run blocker throughout his career for the Bearcats, but really elevated his game as a receiver in his senior season. He isn't a tremendous athlete, but he does a lot of things very well. It's a deep tight end class, but Kelce's play suggests that he should be highly sought after.
Kid's a headcase and there's nothing that says Atlanta HAS to replace Gonzalez, but this is too much value to pass up here.

I came super close to taking him. In fact, were I drafting for the Steelers in reality, I likely would have. Since it was a mock and I wanted to have some fun and possibly engender some conversation, I went with Goodwin instead.

With pick 93 Niners select - Baccari Rambo S Georgia.I was targeting Da'Rick Rogers here, hoping he'd fall to the end of the 3rd, oh well. I like Rambo's ball hawking ability. Harbaugh + Willis and Co. should be able to handle his off the field issues and I think he can replace Whitner or Goldson depending on how that situation plays out.

Baltimore Ravens 3.32 - #94 OVR - OT Luke Marquardt - Azusa PacificWill be a work in progress but has great measurables to eventually be solid NFL LT.
