Shark Pool Mock Draft #2 - Let's draft! (1 Viewer)

3.66. Washington - JaWuan James, OT - Tennessee

6’6 311 pounds and started 37 straight starts for Tennessee at Right Tackle. Will probably go somewhere in the 2nd in the real draft.

with the 3.68 pick the ATL Falcons select Bishop Sankey

Atl doesn't have a true replacement for an aging Steven Jackson (as thy found out this last year.)

This pick allows ATL to ride Jackson hard this year and cut him after the season.

Sankey is a true 3 down back and will be a nice fit in the versatile ATL offense.

Lewan, Ford and Sankey, Yes Sir!

Holy cow. The Jags are going to get Watkins, Van Noy, and Garoppolo. That'd be insane for them.

Edit: Yeah, I'm making assumptions here...

Packers take Austin Seferian-Jenkins
still on the crack pipe.

Not only wrong on the players, wrong on the positions.

Repeat after me. The Packers are not taking a 4-3 dend project olb in the 1st nor are they taking a slow, but large, TE in the second
I don't mind this pick as much since they could us some more weapons in the passing game. Would've preferred one of the safties but there are a couple that could fall to the Packers in the 3rd. The way this draft shook out with Ha Ha, Pryor and Mosley all being taken before the Packers 1st rounder I wouldn't have minded Ebron in that spot as the bpa at the time.

I hate you so very much. It was actually 49 straight starts...
:hey: Copy pasted from somewhere. Guess they got the starts wrong.
CBS? Their statement said it as 37 going into the 2013 season. That confused me a bit. As you can tell, I already had my write up ready. James is a solid RT prospect who is being way too overlooked. Knew Washington was the big risk in taking Borland over him in the second.

Amazingly, the Bucs have not drafted an offensive lineman AT ALL since Jeremy Zuttah in 2008.
Really? That's crazy.

Another crazy stat I heard the other day - there are EIGHT teams that don't have a single player on their roster from the 2009 draft.
Nope, and their fans wonder why the offense is a bottom feeder seemingly every season. They blame the QB, but when there are 5 turnstiles in front of him I don't know what they can expect.

Zuttah was a 3rd rounder. Arron Sears the year before was also a 3rd rounder who went nuts or something. Davin Joseph is the earliest pick in recent memory. 23rd overall in 2006.

With pick 3.70, the Jaguars select QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

He needs some time to develop and can sit behind Henne.

Miami Dolphins select: Jack Mewhort, OT Ohio State

Miami has a gaping hole at Right Tackle in a draft that is pretty top heavy at Tackle. I think James and Mewhort are the top two members of the next tier who are NFL ready to start at RT. Mewhort has experience all over the line, but projects best as a RT in the NFL. Strength is in the passing game, which is where Miami had the most trouble last year.

Mewhort and Su'a-Filo should both be able to start day 1 and strengthen a terrible OL unit.

3.67 - Oakland Raiders - Kelcy Quarles, DT - South Carolina
The Raiders made a lot of DL moves during free agency adding Tuck, Woodley, Antonio Smith, and re-signing Pat Sims. Those four are an upgrade over last years group of Hunter, Walker, Sims, and Houston. They should provide a better pass rush compared to last years group. However, Tuck, Woodley and Smith are getting long in the tooth and are only on two year deals. The Raiders need to add some youth to the defensive line. The Raiders drafted DT Stacy McGee last season and are high on him, now with the addition of Kelcy Quarles the Raiders future interior defensivle line is looking bright.

Kelcy Quarles is versatile being able to play inside in the 4-3 defense and outside as a five-technique in the 3-4 defensive formation making him versatile for a Raiders defense that likes to play both 4-3 and 3-4 defensive formations. In Quarles final season he had 9.5 sacks with 13.5 tackles for loss.

Raiders Draft:

1.05 Khalil Mack LB Buffalo

2.36 Derek Carr QB Fresno State

3.67 Kelcy Quarles DT South Carolina

Murphy is more DE than linebacker. Not that that'd be a bad thing for the Vikes.

If he is a linebacker, it's as a 3-4 OLB.

I stopped thinking about football for a minute

Wow, very suprised by how clean some of the positions have been picked. With that, there's a bit of WR talent surprisingly still on the board for the Bills here. I have my choice of taller guys like Martavis Bryant or Donte Moncrief, and shorter guys like Paul Richardson and Dri Archer. So with that in mind, I'll take the guy who represents the best combination of traits - although he's 3 inches shorter than Mike Evans I feel like getting him 2 rounds later was worth the 3" of height. So with the 3.73 pick of the draft, the Buffalo Bills select:

WR Donte Moncrief, Ole Miss.

Nice pick. 1st back off the board too? WowIts like the best backs are available to any team now.

The New York Giants Select Paul Richardson, WR

Was considering two other positions here, but I eventually decided on Richardson. The jury is still out on every receiver other than Cruz and if I recall, the Giants like to run 3 receiver sets from time to time. The Giants have interviewed Richardson and I doubt there's any smoke screens for a prospect expected to go outside of the first two rounds. I assume there's genuine interest and the Giants would probably take him here in real life also.

Moncrief was the guy I considered taking for the 49ers instead of Brooks. Should go higher than this.

Another thing, we need to remember who has traded a 4th rd pick so we can set the correct draft order (Although I only believe one team has traded a 4th in this draft so far?)

IHEARTFF hasn't been around for a couple days but has been PMd. Should we wait a bit or make a pick. I've got this one figured out if we want to continue...

I'm offering 3.28 & 4.28 for that pick.
I think I'd have to turn that down. Moving back that many picks for just a 4th doesn't seem like a good bargain - especially considering the talent on the board.
Fair enough...I'll wait it out :)
