Shark Pool mock draft - three rounds. Draft started (3 Viewers)

Just popping in for a quick second and then I'm gone for the night. The Lions taking Harvey and me trading for Taylor made this pick easier...

17. Minnesota - Reggie Smith, S/CB - Oklahoma

I hate the Vikings safeties and this is a serious upgrade.

The 18th pick in the draft is available.

Also I am proposing a trade to San Fran

Houston gives 18th pick

for

San Frans 29th pick and 39th pick.

Let me know Harry.

ETA- anyone under me I'd like to move down in the 1st and aquire a 2nd.

Dont feel like holding everyone up.

18. CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State

Hopefully the Texans can get Lightning in a bottle and hopefully genetics work in their favor.

Im still pissed at my Eagles in 2005 when I did one of these in the Shark Pool

Good memory. Wish I still had time to study the draft like I did back then.

edit - I nailed the Carolina pick, not sure he turned out like they hoped though

Sorry i wasn't around... if there was a stud WR maybe the 49ers would trade up, but they need all the picks they can get

I got my CB's sniped ahead of me, so I'm taking another position:

The Eagles select Sam Baker OT Southern Cal

*edit* This is not a desperate need for the Eagles, but they have traditionally stocked the OL in the early phases of the draft, and I see them continuing this. I was locked into Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, but he went one pick previous.

Tampa Bay20. WR DeSean Jackson, CALPlaymaker they need.
What separates this guy from Sinorice Moss? Don't mean to rag on the pick, but for those in the know, what makes him a better prospect?
Myself I would have taken Sweed or Kelly but I think Tampa may feel they need a guy with speed and short quicks instead of a tall rangey guy like Sweed/or Kelly. Personally I dont think Jackson is will grade out better than Kelly but I think he fits what Tampa need and can be used instantly in the slot.

I see Dallas is in the hole. I have to say, this is about as bad of a course of events for Dallas as could happen on draft day.

So it looks like we've come to a slow down. I was hoping to get the Seattle pick in tonight (25) but I guess it'll wait till the morning.

I'm calling it a night. Washington is on the clock. Looks like it will be tomorrow before Dallas goes on the clock anyway. Good night all.

Are we there yet? Miami has some rebuilding to do after those cuts yesterday... well they had rebuilding to do before that.

Sorry to get off the topic but does anyone know how I can get rid of some of this useless information I have?

Seattle and Arizona checking in. Is Yitbos/Washington with us? I'd love to get through the first round this morning if possible.

I'd like Yitbos to make the pick but I'm not sure he knows he's on the clock. He was in this forum last night at around 10:30 and he was on the clock and didn't make a pick. I believe that Washington's pick should be fairly straight forward here ( a certain DE from a very warm southern state!). Should we just make the pick to expedite things?

Has he been PM'ed? If so, I say let's get a consensus pick and move on. There's nothing on the line here, after all.

I'd be alright doing that. I don't want to jeopardize the process, but we're wasting a lot of time waiting around.

Which one? The Southest one? or the one above it?

Ok, I have some offers on the table. Let me sort them out and/or make my own selection.

Wooo Hoooo!!! PARTY TIME!!!!!

With the 22nd pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select:

QUENTIN GROVES - OLB Auburn

Jerry Jones has gone off his rocker. He wants to emulate Matt Millen. The Dallas Cowboys become the Detroit Lions of OLBs, taking them in the first round in 4 staight drafts. Groves joins DeMarcus Ware, Bobby Carpenter, and Anthony Spencer to back up another 1st rounder, Greg Ellis! WTG JERRY!!!!!!!

Just kidding. Actually, Dallas trades the #22 pick to Chicago for the rights to the Bears' second round pick #44 and next year's #1 pick.

The Bears normally trade OUT of the first rather than give up picks to move up. But, what the heck. This is just for fun anyway. I'm predicting a quarterback.

I'm holding out hope for a RB :crossesfingers:
Giving up those picks to take a RB would be beyond dumb.
