I know this has nothing to do with Sherman's personality (I think he's a tool, FWIW), who will be lining up against Sherman for the 49ers this week? I thought it was gonna be mostly Crabtree, but other people have been saying Boldin? I know Sherman stays on one side, do the 49ers move all of their receivers around? Deciding if Crabtree is worth a play on Thursday for Fanduel.
Sherman does stay on one side which is the offense's right side. Last year in SF/Seattle's two matchup where Crabtree played (he was out the first game) Crabtree was primarily lined up against Sherman. In those two games, Crabtree had a total of 8 catches for 92 yards and no Td's. Boldin had 11 catches for 146 and 1TD in those two games.
Also, Boldin likes to work the middle of the field to which Seattle is slightly more vunerable.
Boldin has been more productive than Crabtree all year and I think SF will gladly sacrifice Crabtree in this game for Boldin, S.Johnson and B.Lloyd to see easier coverage. With Bobby Wagner back it is unlikely Sf will be able to run very effectively.
I have Boldin this week and will start him without question, if I had Crabtree I would bench him this week.
