New Bachelor Party Capital of the East Coast
My bachelor party was in south philly. Good times. Having a casino would've put it over the top.I still think I have scars on my back from that night.
Not a Philly fan or guy but it basically puts all you want under one roof. Well all but the strip clubs but cheerleaders is just up the road

I still talk to a lot of people in that area. They keep telling me how hard it is to find a job, I keep telling them to move. A few told me, "well it's bad everywhere". I tell them it's not as bad as south jersey.

You could throw a rock at the map of the US and find a better place to live right now.

South Jersey < > Fergeson

Gloucester county is at 6.5 % I'm not saying it easy but one county is not the whole. There are jobs out there but it isn't easy for sure

You think someone that was a ~70k a year black jack dealer who did that job for years after high school (no college) could find a job making the same thing in Gloucester? If that was me, I would move; casinos are opening in new areas all the time and the experience in this examples has value in other places. Instead I see these same people taking jobs at WaWa for minimum wage hoping for a job to open in AC.

My point all industries expand and contract (for all kinds of reasons) and I'm always amazed when people don't move when change happens. Reminds me of a book I read early on in college entitled, "Who Moved My Cheese?"

For some people it's hard to move

I think I read somewhere that something like over 50% of the population lives within 15 miles of their childhood home.

Talk about a bargain. The place cost $2.4 BILLION to build just a few years ago and they got it for $110 million. They own a couple other casinos so hopefully, they won't screw this up.

Definitely a good think for the AC economy and workers there.
So much for that....

They pulled out.

that's not what you said. You said anywhere else on the map is easier to get a job than south jersey.I don't disagree what you posted there.
