You ever hate a song because you associate it with a time and place? This is one of those songs for me. Nothing against the pick shuke.shuke said:

Holy #### that rocks.shuke said:432. Fanny - A Place In The Country
Hopefully I started at the right spot of this video (2:38). It's better than the studio version.
Who are these chicks? No clue. This showed up in my Youtube sidebar one night.
Do they have any kids in music? Because then you could post a third one.shuke said:426. Richard & Linda Thompson - Shoot Out The Lights
Yes, I already posted a Richard Thompson song.
Maybe start them out on album sides. Only about 20 minutes for them to deal with, that was me for the most part.Binky The Doormat said:I think MOCS nailed it - but rather than just one song - these guys represent album rock where you just put it on and listen to it as an entire album.
It's a shame that many people younger than 30 or so probably never really listened to albums all the way through - and certainly not as a regular practice. There are so many deep cuts we all love here because you heard them as part of an album. Think of the amount of times you hear a song and you automatically know what's coming next because of listening to the album as a whole for years.
never heard this one growing up ... was a different world then, the hot stuff was not as easily geographically disseminated as it is in today's innerwebz reality - guessing it never got much, if any, play or traction up in the NYC area - Layne or Jamny may concur or refute? pretty sure you two were here during that era.shuke said:
This definitely got airplay on Dayton rock radio in the 80’s. this was a much bigger regional (South/Midwest) hit, i would assume![]()
don't even recall it being on any of those "HARD ROCK" K-Tel like compilations ... dig the song very much, but it's posing a logistical conundrum.
Related offshoot: I would stack 5-6 albums on the stereo arm - go read, do whatever - then flip the stack when that was done (found out when I went to college that is a big no-no for record treatment). Anyone remember these bad boys? I spent a month or so putting this together while on a steady diet of:Maybe start them out on album sides. So sweet, Bink.Related offshoot: I would stack 5-6 albums on the stereo arm - go read, do whatever - then flip the stack when that was done (found out when I went to college that is a big no-no for record treatment). Anyone remember these bad boys? I spent a month or so putting this together while on a steady diet of:
Cat Stevens - Catch Bull At Four
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story
Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street
James Taylor - Mud Slide Slim
The Who - Who's Next
The Beatles - White Album
Todd Rundgren - Something/Anything
If you ever did put one of these together, I hope you had an easier time than I did. It's an electric working model and you end up have to sand/file a bunch of the parts to make it work right. To this day, I don't know #### about car engines (though it wouldn't matter much anyway ...).
I remember it from the early days; can't say much more. This definitely got airplay on Dayton rock radio in the 80’s. Not sure about when it first came out.
I can't say anything nice about this.shuke said:434. KISS - I Was Made for Loving You
My hatred for this band is well-documented on this board. But this one is pretty good.
likeI'm kinda drunk and elevated. What's going on?
I'm gonna get nostalgic about the past 24 hours in this thread and report back.
That is a good one. It reminds me of another great song, but shuke may actually be bright enuff ta pick it later...
I admit to liking some Kiss songs but I Was Made For Loving You is one of the annoying Kiss tunes.I can't say anything nice about this.
I heard it all the time here in CA.never heard this one growing up ...
DO I NOT POST HERE????
Am I the only one who thought their lyrics to another song were "I wanna rock and rock all night, and part of every day"? I mean, it made sense to me, because they were already rocking and rolling all night, so allocating only a part of the day to it seemed reasonable. Everything in moderation, you know.I admit to liking some Kiss songs but I Was Made For Loving You is one of the annoying Kiss tunes.
Not sure how I missed this.shuke said:

I actually think the dumb (no offense) brother-in-law on whatever sitcom Jim Belushi was on back in the day...one of those shows where the slob husband has a smoking hot wife*...thought those were the lyrics too.Am I the only one who thought their lyrics to another song were "I wanna rock and rock all night, and part of every day"? ok - if we gonna have fun on a Saturday nite:
my caps lock is fixed mother ####er.Yes?
Maybe?
Maybe?
I don’t like that show
Shabooh Shoobah is their only really great album. I will die on this hill.415. INXS - Don't Change
A handful of options for this pick, but this one brings a lot of nostalgia.
I think I’ve asked this before but is Mr. Krista a fan of Material Issue?Nerd.
Very interesting...413. Loudon Wainwright III - Bill of Goods
I had this on a mixed tape I made from CDs I borrowed from the library.
Bob Dylan write this?Your perfume petered out.
There was a whiff from your nicked armpit
When the real you wafted through
And your deodorant
Couldn't stop it.
There was a fire in your building.
They still don't know what caused it.
But all your clothes and shoes burned up,
I think you made the better choice.
I am no expert on BB, but man - the dude was so excellent in so many ways. And, you are exactly correct.410. B.B. King - The Thrill Is Gone
Had the pleasure of seeing him live about 20 years ago. It wasn't until then that I realized that he didn't (couldn't) sing and play guitar at the same time. Makes for a very distinctive sound.
I agree; I really like, but I have one other I like just as much:
