Great movie.774. James Taylor - Fire and Rain
This song is good enough on its own, but it also reminds me of a very underrated movie, Running On Empty, that was one of the few movies to make me cry like a baby. If you haven't seen it, I recommend not watching that clip and find the movie.
Joe Cocker isn't always bad; mostly just his Beatles covers that I hate. Oh, and this song.773. Joe Cocker - You Are So Beautiful
I love me some Billy Preston, but I like Joe's version better. Sorry @krista4
Wait, that's not the main guy. This is the main guy. Email address and phone number on contact page. We could get the whole band in here I think.https://twitter.com/samjamm?lang=en
I have an email address for him too. I'm sure we could get him here. He'll be disappointed (like the rest of us) that the song wasn't #1 though.

I think....just maybe....these guys did drugs.
I embarrassed to admit but the first time (or two) I heard this song I thought it was a Neil Diamond song. Guess I hadn’t listened close enough to the lyrics for one thing.
Was going to put this one on my list, but went with the original only.
THAT'S how you know it? Lordy, this song was everywhere in the '70s
This is just a good, fun song that still holds up well to me.787. The Toadies - Possum Kingdom
There are a few songs that when I hear them, if I close my eyes I can transport myself back to college house parties. This is one of them.
This is one of the songs that I was going to offer in my three song contribution. I love the guitar solo. It isn't pretty but rather fits the song well with its angry frantic style. Great choice for the list.
Joe Cocker is mostly bad.Great movie.

I can't think of a single song from this album that I love, but I do love listening to the whole album start to finish. Underrated IMO
Sweeeet bike & song. The one, the only: 1952 Vincent Black Lightning
Both Jefferson Airplane and Ted Nugent borrowed some of this music. For this entry, I am going to substitute composer for artist.
770. Maurice Ravel - Bolero
Now for those of you unfamiliar with this little diddy, you'll have to turn your speakers all the way up at the beginning. But you have to keep them like that for the entire song.
Well then, I recommend the movie Being There. I do not have a favorite movie (not even O Brother), but, Being There is a 1st round pick for me. Peter Sellers is just sooo F'in brilliant.
New to me. Beautiful.
ALRIGHT!
Any guess' on my opinion?

Weirdos... One of my all time favorites. There is a YouTube version where the co conductor uses a toothpick instead of a baton. Makes sense at the beginning but not so much at the end.shuke said:For this entry, I am going to substitute composer for artist.

The conductor is using a toothpick in the video I posted. From the Youtube comments: He doesn't like to use a baton. He wants the orchestra to watch his hands, not the baton. He was criticized for his lack of the baton, so he responded to his critics by using this toothpick. One of my all time favorites. Both new to me - both <saved>
I'm not really a big Metallica fan (don't dislike them either), but the songs that I like of theirs, I really like.
seems pretty damn good to me - this song kicks so much ###.shuke said:

lots and lots from which to pick for James Taylor.shuke said:774. James Taylor - Fire and Rain

it all went a bit cheesy after a while, but I have always liked them, especially the earlier days, their first two albums were damn good. This is no "Air Supply" band. They came to Miami U. my freshman year and most everyone had their first two albums, the 2nd had just come out. All of these below would have been good choices as well. This is just good mellow music.shuke said:
here.OH, @Binky The Doormat - Bink,
I just remembered a great Dayton, OH story I have - but - I was waiting for a good inspiration point/song for it.
If it don't come up, I will eventually post it anyways.
You still there btw?
I meant in Dayton = or - is that just a succinct reply affirmin' yous Daytonian status?here.
