Shuke's 1400 favorite songs by 1400 different artists. (2 Viewers)

774. James Taylor - Fire and Rain

This song is good enough on its own, but it also reminds me of a very underrated movie, Running On Empty, that was one of the few movies to make me cry like a baby.  If you haven't seen it, I recommend not watching that clip and find the movie.
Great movie.

773. Joe Cocker - You Are So Beautiful

I love me some Billy Preston, but I like Joe's version better.  Sorry @krista4
Joe Cocker isn't always bad; mostly just his Beatles covers that I hate.  Oh, and this song.

For this entry, I am going to substitute composer for artist.

770. Maurice Ravel - Bolero

Now for those of you unfamiliar with this little diddy, you'll have to turn your speakers all the way up at the beginning.  But you have to keep them like that for the entire song.

"We all loved watching Night Flight during the 80s. I can confirm that we pretty much just ripped off the line from Spiderman. We were just joking around when we wrote it, and never dreamed that we would actually record it, much less have all the other stuff happen. The only error is that we shot it at The Madison House, a club down the street from the Antenna. Anyway, Thanks for thinking of us! Woof." -Sam Shoup

Sweeeet bike & song.

I spent most of my life on bikes - until about 3 years ago, when I sold my last cycle.

The Black Lightning was a dream bike of mine - but I never got one. The closest I came was a 1970 custom cafe racer Triumph I built myself (needed help on engine top end tho) . Most pieces were removable - to lower weight for racin'.

The mf'er dropped pieces like Slappy sheds fur, but - it was worth the maintenance.

I posted this in another thread, but - I drop it here too.

It's Bad Ya Know - RL Burnside

I'm not sure if a Black Lightning appears in vid - but, it definitely captures the spirit.

Really good times! 😎

ALRIGHT!

What a morning...so much motorcycle!!!

Now, here is a story related to BRMC - not the band, but the mc club.

As I mentioned earlier, I grew up on bikes. My best friend's pop was a machinist/gunsmith that went on disability when he was pretty young (only 2 fingers on one hand & an F'd back). So, he was in the bike scene since the early '60s and began makin' custom bikes and guns for a local mc club.

Well, I was NOT a fit for these dudes & never tried to become a member, but I did ride with them often - since they were close to someone close to me.

Since I did not fit in, I tried to mess with them as far as I could, without getting stomped. Since Frank was like a 2nd pop to me (and he was OG), I had some cushion to be an ###. In retrospect, I would change things - but - can't do it.

One of the things I did to mess, was create my own MC Club - a rival so to speak. I called it KRMC. The K stood for the name of the company I worked for - thus = K____ Rebel Motorcycle Club.

We only had 3 members, as there were only three of us at K that rode. One of the members was my best friend (Frank's son). He coulda been a member of the big club, but - thankfully, he did not follow in his father's footsteps. He was too good of a man ta be in that kinda club.

Anyways, I have a pic of the logo spray painted on my garage wall. I took the pic in 2000 - when selfies were new. It was for a sharing we did at my 1st regular website. Please ignore all of the ego bull #### - I was young; this was my 1st work, and it is too over the top and busy - but, it is the only pic I have of the logo.

KRMC

Oh, the bikers loved my Triumph & loathed my Honda. Thus, I rode the Honda whenever I was with them. Hah!

Keep the rubber side down! 🏍️

Most of the songs/groups I don't know at all.

But of the ones that I do, I find myself agreeing the majority of the time.

One of my all time favorites. There is a YouTube version where the co conductor uses a toothpick instead of a baton. Makes sense at the beginning but not so much at the end.

The conductor is using a toothpick in the video I posted.  From the Youtube comments: He doesn't like to use a baton. He wants the orchestra to watch his hands, not the baton. He was criticized for his lack of the baton, so he responded to his critics by using this toothpick.

764. Morning Runner - Gone Up In Flames

Also considered:
Burning Benches
Hold Your Breath

Both new to me - both <saved>

761. Metallica - Fade to Black

Also considered: Nothing Else Matters
I'm not really a big Metallica fan (don't dislike them either), but the songs that I like of theirs, I really like.

I really like both a these - plus:

Metallica - Enter Sandman [Official Music Video]

Metallica - One [Official Music Video]

OK - I'm caught up - I think.

Redy fer de weekend!

785. Living Colour - Cult Of Personality

Is this guitar solo awesome or horrible?
seems pretty damn good to me - this song kicks so much ###.
Yeah, I forgot to mention this one.

I posted this in one of the other music threads; I got to see these guys with the Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels Tour in '89...

Living Colour - 1989 Tour with the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger

I went in only knowin' this song; I came out a fan. They F'n rocked - and the solo does too - don't care if others laugh or not...🤘

769. Ambrosia - Biggest Part of Me

I hate myself for liking this song.
it all went a bit cheesy after a while, but I have always liked them, especially the earlier days, their first two albums were damn good.  This is no "Air Supply" band.  They came to Miami U. my freshman year and most everyone had their first two albums, the 2nd had just come out.  All of these below would have been good choices as well.  This is just good mellow music.

Nice, Nice, Very Nice

Time Waits For No One

Holding Onto Yesterday

Somewhere I've Never Travelled

Life Beyond LA (3rd album)
