You’ve got to really work as the listener to get FZ. And I could imagine upwards of 100 different songs that one could claim as his best, his work was so varied and unusual. I prefer One Size Fits All myself (the entire album) but if I post tomorrow, I might go with Zoot Allures or Them or Us. Two overused superlatives fit Frank more than anyone else in my book: unique and genius.

 
As far as I recall, beyond the zany, Zappa was a scale freak - in that he knew ton's of scales and really experimented there.

I'm not sure if my recollection is totally accurate, but it is what drew me to him years and years ago - mid 80's.

I also think a lot of his stuff is hard to listen to, but if ya bear it, there are some interesting things goin' on.'

Honestly, this is close to the very 1st song I remember in my life. I posted this elsewhere - in CIA's blues thread I believe...

Someone whined about getting a three-day timeout.  The poster who is now Good Posting Judge (IIRC) posted something like "you know who else got a three-day timeout?  Jesus" and then something about how instead of whining about it he just flew right up to heaven.  Something like that.  Great callback by Nipsey.

DEAD TO ME!:)  I'm not sure there's enough shoe bourbon in Ohio to cleanse the rusted stank of that root. 

I'm actually super biased against RR.  They're from Pittsburgh.  I'm from Pittsburgh.  They came up in the 90s. I came up in the 90s.  It was impossible for me to escape their ish.  Had friends who loved them from jump in the early 90s, but the singers voice always annoyed the hell out of me.  And then 1994 rolled around and that song's pretty much been on loop in movies/commercials/etc.  Blah.   I'm sure whoever wrote it happy as @#$@#$% though.
