Some funny parts but they were all telegraphed. If that new woman ceo is a main character next season, I don't think I can watch it. She's horribly over acting.

yeah I didnt get the whole takeover thing but then I started thinking about it. i think the board members were... richard, erlich, three commas guy, three commas guys girlfriend, and megans boss. megans boss bought three commas guys two chairs making them majority and fired Richard. Can a company buy multiple chairs like that?

sorry. gilligans island was ABOUT a bunch of people marooned on an island. This show isnt ABOUT a failed tech startup. It can be funny without failing EVERY episode. The plot can just be about the Pied Piper people.

I actually really liked the episode.
The guys got a win, the episode was funny, they wrote out the 3 commas guy who was terrible, and they set up the next chapter of problems they have to solve next season.
Something tells me Richard will get his CEO title back somehow just like some technicality got him the win in his lawsuit vs. Hooli.
The format of the show so far seems to be putting this company in what seems like an insurmountable hole and then something little gets them out... at least that's what both of the first two seasons have been about.

None of it makes any sense. Most of the funding/investment stuff, the lawsuit and the "binding arbitration" process is all silliness. No matter imo, still a very funny episode and a good show.

well, HBO tends to disagree with you since they describe the show as being about a bunch of people not capable of handling success. I don't think it is a stretch to extrapolate that to being a bunch of lovable losers who constantly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. You can find that annoying but it is the basic premise of the show.

Thought the finale was boring without many funny scenes, might've been my least favorite episode of the season... Also not aware of many highly successful tech startups that fire their CEO while they still have a single digit amount of employees... I'm struggling to even name one.. Someone should also let the writers know that they don't have to fail at every turn to have a good show.
Russ better be back in season 3 too, he was an enjoyable addition to the show this year.

Loved the finale. Loved the season. Thought it was great. The show is walking the line perfectly in letting them win enough, but hitting them with a lot of loses. If you look at where PP was from the pilot to last night, it has succeeded perfectly. If you didn't know the smaller details, you'd think PP was a thriving business doing great things at an amazing pace. It's only because we know every detail of the company that it seems like they are losing a lot of battles.
I can't wait for next season. Best show on TV right now.

They have to go somewhere with BH. Having the guru overhear the two women talking about how BH is a genius and then seeing the guru hitch himself to the BH wagon was definitely a lead in to BH having a continuing role in the show.

One mystery is how 3 comma guy managed to control 2 of 5 board seats and later sold his interest in PP, but never provided any funding. If Richard only controls 20% of his company, it should be no surprise to him that he can be fired at any time, but he should be rich if the premise of the show is remotely consistent.

I thought the whole reason they had to fire everyone, couldn't use the expensive law firm, and essentially kicked 3 comma guy to the curb was because he had not provided any funding. So it was strange that he still controlled 2/5 board seats and was able to sell that to return himself to the B club. Regardless, the show is funny, good writing for the most part and I doubt the writers are setting anything up that is involved in the minutia. If you nearly lose an arbitration because some lawyers pieced together an obscure reference in a single email among 40+ boxes of documents, but none of the lawyers on either side realized his employment agreement is unenforceable, well ... you can write just about any plot line you want into this thing.

I also thought it was Monica who controlled the seat. I thought that Monica's firm bailed out on PP when they wouldn't provide funding. If it was her holding the seat then she's totally burned her bridges with the PP peeps.

Monica is now the swing vote and if the rumors are true that next season she ends up hooking up with Jian Yang initially over a common love of smoking than perhaps that relationship sways her into voting with PP to bring Richard back as CEO.

Non-compete clauses don't fly in CA (which is actually true). Because Richard had effectively signed one to work at Hooli, the arbitrator found the contract unenforceable. Thus, Hooli doesn't necessarily have claim to the outside work he might've done there.AcerFC said:

I don't watch any other comedies on TV. None of them are funny. This show has very funny moments - it's the constant failing that distracts from the great characters and gets annoying. I'd rather they get rid of the whole underlying plot. I could watch 30 minutes of them shooting the #### about nothing and think it's the best show ever.

maybe if you'd like some comedy without a plot you could try watching a standup routine or listening to a comedy podcast or a show where the episodes don't build on each other like Sunny In Philadelphia, Seinfeld, or Workaholics.
This show is built in a way where the week to week buildup matters and a semi-believable plot is needed.

I agree with everyone saying it's becoming formulaic and limped to the finish. I don't think this season was planned out from the beginning. Seemed like they were figuring it out as they went, throwing in plot changes.
Expecting it to be refreshing when it comes back after Judge has some time to plan and write.
