Heading home this morning and i saw on the news there's already been 18" with another possible 3-7" today. Brutal start to winter. My wife has shoveled 3 times so far and for that I'll pay

Lake effect hit here overnight, my house which is 6 miles form the lake got 2 inches, near the lake anywhere from 8-12 inches

Well, got home and got to work right away. There's a solid 20 inches, but luckily for me the wife did most of the work. Still a good 5 inches that needed shoveling by the time i got home.
I guess that rips the bandaid off for that. Let it snow let it snow let it snow.

Good luck this weekend. Seeing some large snow amounts for northern wisconsin/UP. We are supposedly not getting anything significant 3-5 inches possibly.

Started here about 2 hours ago. Coming down pretty hard, white out conditions looking out the living room window. Predicting 20-25 inches (over 3ft just to the west) with 60mph winds. 2 separate bands, one from the storm and a second from the wind wrapping back around and bringing lake effect.
Luckily we're headed a few hours south tomorrow where they're only getting 1-3. Snow blower is gassed up and ready for when we get back. I'll shovel just enough to get out and deal with the rest when we get back

Mrs. Kanil is getting 3-5 inches tonight if she plays her cards right. And by "play her cards right" I mean she says, "ok I guess, let's get this over with".

Sorta kinda snowed in. Roads are pretty bad so not leaving as planned till after the Packer game. We did get "lucky" and got around 15" instead of the predicted 24"+. Reason enough for an extra helping to show thanks.
Eta.
The weather channel app is full of ****. After getting out and doing removal we definitely got the full 24+.......

Underrated benefit of living in the upper midwest this time of year is having a garage that doubles as one huge refrigerator. I put my pot of turkey stock and the pies my daughter made out there last night and have the beer and other drinks out on my workbench to make room for all the stuff my wife needs to keep cold in our fridges. Pregame action on the garage TV.
