Any St Louis homers heard anything regarding Steven Jackson's injury. According to the link below (which was posted in another thread) he's been reading books and rehabbing. Anybody have word on if he'll be ready for Week 10?

Steven Jackson (groin, back) missed Rams practice Monday, but coach Scott Linehan says he expects Jackson to play in Week 10 at New Orleans.

St. Louis is coming back from a bye week, so there would be no reason to push Jackson through a Monday workout. "Steven looks good," Linehan said. "He feels a lot better. Having some time off and being able to calm that down a little bit was real good for him. He did some conditioning today, and we’ll start him back in with some light work on Wednesday."

I think he plays, and against NO he could be a good play.
As an Sjax owner (might trade him for Hassel and Smith -- desperate at QB) I am hoping for a very good game. But the Saints are 10th against the run at 96 ypg. I am not sure whether this is due to their propensity to give up more yardage against the pass, or they just simply are good at stopping the run. For example, Jax did not rush well (and they are very good at running the ball) but Gray threw for 354 yards and 2 tds (and 3 INTs). So it remains to be seen whether SJax will light them up or not....

Ive watched most Saints games, and I'd have to say they are good at stopping the run. They give up a big play here and there, but most of the time, they stop the run very well. I dont see SJ breaking 80 yards rushing against this D. He may contribute well as a reciever however. 50-50 shot he gets a TD. The Saints pass rush is just beginning to look like they did in 2006, so i expect a lot of 2nd and 3rd and longs for the Rams O.

It would be nice to see SJAX out there, Linehan will figure out a way to screw it up though.

How is this guy still employed as a head coach?

That's been Linehan's bread and butter the past two years, and if the team does too good on first down I'm sure Alex Barron will throw in a false start penalty. That being said, I expect Holt to have a very nice game. Jackson will probably be as big a factor in the passing game as he has been all season.

Steven Jackson-RB- Rams Nov. 7 - 1:13 pm et

Steven Jackson (groin, back) returned to practice Wednesday, as expected.

Jackson is on track to start against New Orleans' surprisingly stout run defense. The Rams also returned OL Brett Romberg (sprained ankles) to the lineup. Romberg, who began the year at center, will replace Richie Incognito (knee) at right guard. Andy McCollum will man the pivot position. All the line shuffling considered, Jackson remains a solid RB2 play in Week 10.

Is this another Jackson says he ready, but he's out again in a few minutes? Any new info would be GREATLY appreciated. I do not want this to be a trade or not trade post. ( it is) he's on the blocks for Plaxico and I need a replacement for LJ BAD.

Steven Jackson (back) participated in a complete workout Thursday.

Jackson was limited Wednesday. He'll likely be called probable on Friday.

SJax's weekly article for those that are interested.
Rehab has been my life for the past two months, but I tell you what: it worked. I'm feeling fast, strong, and healthy. You want a definitive answer on whether or not I'm going to play this week, instead of all this wishy-washy speculation?

It's yes.

I'll be out there, I'm feeling great, and we're going to push hard to try and get that first win. To say I'm "pumped" might be an understatement.
:lmao: Love the attitude, play him if you've got him.

Dropped Portis and picked up S Jax this week.

Going with gut instinct.

Sell high, buy low.

Portis bothers me some. Jackson potential homerun threat.

Gotta roll the dice sometimes.

Hopeful for 80 yards and a TD. Anything more is a bonus.

QB: Big Ben

RB: LT

RB: S Jax

WR: Roy Williams - c'mon

WR: Fitz - please get into the endzone

WR: Holmes - pleasantly surprised - heal the hammy?

K: Folk

D/ST: SD

Team Smokin' is 6-3 and second place in points with this team. Hoping to keep it going.

He will stay on my bench untill I see some positive results. Gonna start Fargas and Chatman this week.

I think he's referring to the fact that he dropped the #6 ranked RB standard scoring for a guy who's been hurt all year, on an atrocious team, has a poor OL, and currently sits at #46.

What do you guys think of Jackson's outlook the rest of the way, not just this week? Does he have any chance of being a top 10 back the rest of the way?

I think he has a favorable regular (fantasy) season schedule the rest of the way, which grants the opportunity for top10, but obviously the concern here is will he play the games. If he does, I think he can get some bubble teams into the playoffs.Nov 11 @New Orleans

Nov 18 @San Francisco

Nov 25 Seattle

Dec 2 Atlanta

Dec 9 @Cincinnati

Dec 16 Green Bay

Dec 20 Pittsburgh

Dec 30 @Arizona

So far so good. 80 yards rushing, TD; TD pass; 5 receptions for 24 yards; finished the game.Anyone get news on how he felt afterwards?

i think him being in at the end spoke volumes. I really do wonder if his back spasm had more to do with coming back from the groin pull and the disk finding was inadvertent and may not really be an issue. Maybe it is wishful thinking but not out of the realm of possibility...
