Sleeper DB / CB for Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Jeff Pasquino

This guy is up and down, but he's mostly "up" against this team.

I'm talking about Lito Sheppard.

He certainly is a boom or bust corner, especially since Asante Samuel took away a bunch of his playing time.

However, check the numbers.

Over the past 4 seasons (8 games) Lito has had 8 INTs - at least one in 7 out of 8 games - and two TDs. He's also had 14 passes defensed and 41 tackles (4 solo) in those same 8 games.

I'm not saying that he's a must start, but if you need a DB and want some big upside, he's a good bet. Some players just get up for some opponents, so don't be surprised if Lito picks off a Romo pass on Monday Night.

But wasn't he the starter over the past 4 years? Now he is the nickel back?

The Eagles will go 5DB sets more often than not, as Witten slides outside.Lito will be on the field and is highly likely to make a big play.

Lito seen nearly 70% of the defensive snaps last week vs St. Louis, his percentage this week should rival that.

And he's playing Monday Night.

Come on, you know if you have a guy going Monday Night you start him!

I thought everyone knew this rule.

Does this mean that I should start all my Texan & Raven IDPs now that the game has been moved to Monday night??

Well I think the fact that Phi had huge lead and Stl was playing from behind all day had something to do with the 70%. I personally think Dallas will try to run ball alot more to try and keep Phi offense off field and control the clock. Really do not see Lito playing 70% of th snaps this week. He might be able to snag a big play when he is on field, but at this point I would not bet on it. :banned:

How do you know what percentage of defensive snaps he played? Is it in the subscriber area and I just don't know where to find it?Also, do you know if the Eagles are still looking to trade him?

profootballfocus.com is putting together player participation logs on a limited basis again this season. Some of its data was highlighted and cited in our subscriber columns this week.

Good Point ADP... he should still see a fair amount of snaps, but 70% could be a reach. Witten creates matchup problems in the base defense and Barber in the nickel. Pick your poison.

Not to change the topic somewhat, but since when is Sheldon Brown considered to be a better CB than Lito?!?

Can Lito not play each side of the field or something?

I dont see how he wouldnt start over Brown
