Sneaky DL Start Week #15 - Travis Kirschke (1 Viewer)

I have a good feeling about this guy this week. It looks like Brett Keisel is going to miss one more week and Kirschke has really played excellently whenever he has gotten the chance to start this year. Last week against the Cowboys Kirschke went 4-2-1 with a fumble recovery to boot. He has been a tackle machine this year for a DE. This week the Steelers get Baltimore in Balt. With the Steelers offense struggling I look for the Steelers D to be on the field for a lot of the game and we all know Baltimore will run the ball a lot against any team. I predict a 5-2-0.5 effort from Kirschke this week. Anybody else have any input on this guy? Gene what do you think of him?

I think he will be a top 5-10 DE this week. I just put him in my lineup in place of Haynesworth who hasn't been doing anything for the past month.

I'd be afraid to risk him in the playoffs with really just one good game under his belt, however he did have nice numbers in week three vs Philly. He definitley would be a sneakey/sleeper start in deep leagues.

He would be an intriguing start in leagues who require DT, if he was listed as one. Also has nice matchup next week vs Tennessee.

He's only started 3-4 games this year and in each of those games he has at least 6 tackles. I should of prefaced my post by saying that in my league tackles and assists are worth a lot. If you are in a tackle heavy league you could do a lot worse than this guy this week. He will get you 5+ tackles this week imo.

I agree. A team looking for a guy to plug in there, make note-to-self.

My keeper league pays 5.5 points for tackles and 5.0 for assists for defensive lineman. He was the highest scoring member of my 20-man fantasy team this week and has taken me into the Championship Game next weekend. Hope some people used him in tackle/assist heavy leagues. If he get's one more start he should do the same next week in TN.
